Tom Brady’s ex is insanely happy for the soon-to-be retiree.
Bridget Moynahan expressed her delight over Brady’s retirement announcement on Tuesday, February 1.
Brady announced he’d be OFFICIALLY retiring from the sport of football after some confusion surrounding his career status.
Tom Brady Confirms He's Retiring
Over the weekend, ESPN reporters Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington had reported that Brady had officially announced his retirement from football. However, that announcement was quickly backtracked with many wondering if Brady was ready to return for another season.
He isn’t.

Brady wrote, “I have always believed the sport of football is an “all-in” proposition – if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success. Is what I love so much about our game. There is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life. This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”
Brady went on to thank his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates, coaches, fellow competitors and fans.
Interestingly enough, he did not mention or give kudos to his former team, the New England Patriots.
Despite possibly throwing some shade at the Pats, many people showed support for the quarterback including his ex.
Moynahan reposted Brady’s retirement photo announcement and captioned it, “So proud of @tombrady. Yesterday and today and I know you will do great things tomorrow. Looking forward to the next steps.”
Tom Brady's Ex Shows Support For Retired NFL Star
Many praised her for showing support despite their sticky past.
Moynahan and Brady share a son, Jack, together. She was pregnant with their baby when he left her for Gisele Bündchen nearly 15 years ago.
“It was an interesting time because we found out after that my ex-girlfriend was pregnant with my oldest son,” Brady recalled on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2020. “We were forced into this very important thing in our lives at a new part of our relationship. In a lot of ways, I found out a lot about Gisele through this experience, and she found out a lot about me dealing with a situation that was not a very easy one. It was hard for my wife and for my son’s mom because she didn’t envision that either.”
The former NFL MVP and supermodel got married in 2009 and went on to have two children together, Benjamin and Vivian.
Brady made sure to give a massive shoutout to the former Victoria’s Secret lingerie model in his retirement announcement.

“To my parents and entire family (an extended family of countless friends), I love you and thank you for your never-ending support and love. I could never have imagined the time and energy you have given for me the past 30 years in football. I can never repay you. And just know I love you so much. And lastly to my wife, Gisele, and my children Jack, Benny and Vivi. You are my inspiration. Our family is my greatest achievement,” he wrote. “I always came off the field and home to the most loving and supportive wife who has done EVERYTHING for our family to allow me to focus on my career. Her selflessness allowed me to reach new heights professionally, and I am beyond words what you mean to me and our family. Te am amore da minha vida.”
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has had a successful run throughout 22 seasons and seven Super Bowl titles. Prior to his two-season run in Tampa Bay, Brady had spent two decades with the New England Patriots.
Brady has been widely recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks in world history. During his first season with the Buccaneers, Brady led the team to their second Lombardi Trophy, making Tampa Bay the first team in league history to play and win the Super Bowl in their home stadium.
Cheers to a new beginning!
