Singer Adam Lambert is turning 40 years old today! Adam Mitchel Lambert was born on January 29, 1982, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Adam Lambert became a household name after he placed second in the eighth season of “American Idol” in 2009. Later that year, he released his debut album, titled, “For Your Entertainment.” The album debuted in the third spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts. One of his hit singles from the album, “Whataya Want From Me,” earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
He released his second studio album “Trespassing” in 2012. The album debuted at the number one spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, which made him the first openly gay artist to have an album top the charts. Lambert followed it up with his third album, “The Original High,” which debuted at the number three spot.
Everyone is celebrating his birthday, even Queen, although that might be because Lambert has collaborated with them as a lead vocalist for Queen + Adam Lambert since 2011, which has spawned several international tours from 2014 to 2020. Their first album, “Live Around the World,” was released in 2020 and debuted at the number one spot on the U.K. Albums Chart.
In addition to his musical work, Lambert also founded his own non-profit, called the Feel Something Foundation. The organization’s focus is to provide support for the LGBTQ+ community in education, art, mental health awareness, and homelessness.
