Even after eight years, Courteney Cox and her boyfriend are still in a good place. According to a report by People, she gushed about what he meant to her.

"He's a great advice-giver. I love his heart, his intentions. His morals," Cox began. "He's extremely talented and musical, but he's a poet and a writer. He's just so smart, and I find that sexy. And then he is gorgeous."

As if those weren't the only adjectives enough to describe her Northern Irish beau, she added he is also "a great listener" and the most "patient" person she's ever met.

As she grows older, she understands the importance of love. "I've learned that love is precious." The pair spent months apart quarantined in different states early in the pandemic. "It's been 133 days since we were last together. Covid sucks," Cox posted on Instagram on July 24, 2020.

Although it put their love to the test, this also made them stronger. "7 years ago today, I had my first date with this incredible man, and my life was changed forever," Cox captioned a late 2020 Instagram post.

Backstory

Shortly after her divorce from David Arquette in 2013, Cox found love again. She was first spotted with Johnny McDaid, as reported by the Irish Mirror. They decided to take the relationship to the next level around Christmas when McDaid was her date to Jenifer Aniston's annual bash.

Since then, they've been together, and though their road hasn't been smooth, they have experienced love and have learned to separate the wheat from the chaff while focusing on what's important.

The pair got engaged in 2014 after dating for six months. In 2015, People recorded that they had split.

Although they managed to get back together romantically in 2016, she confirmed in 2019 that they were not engaged again.

Their Relationship Improved After They Called Off The Engagement

According to the "Friends" alum, she divulged that her relationship was better now that they weren't engaged anymore.

"Isn't that strange? We broke off our engagement, and he moved to England, then we got back together, and it's better than before. Everything is better," she said to Ellen. "Not because he's in London, although the distance after that breakup - we were apart for six months - that showed us a lot, and it's just better."

She added that she was still enamored of her long-time boyfriend but admitted that it could be a bit expensive since it was long-distance and they had to travel to see each other.

"I mean, it's expensive, it's an expensive relationship, we go back and forth a lot. He's incredible. He's also an incredible writer. He writes tons of music," she concluded.

In the new issue of People, she addressed whether she'll ever get married. "I don't know. I'm not opposed to it. I don't think about it."
