Halle Berry opened up about her relationship with boyfriend Van Hunt.
The "Bruised" star, 55, talked about her love life in the February/March 2022 cover story for AARP The Magazine. She revealed how her son Maceo showed his approval of the singer, 51.
Happy & In Love
"I really believe I've found my person," Berry said.
"My son Maceo on his own did this little commitment ceremony for us in the back seat of the car. I think he finally sees me happy, and it's infectious. It was his way of saying, 'This is good. This makes me happy,'" she continued.
"It was a very real moment for all of us. I teared up, Van was fighting back tears," the Oscar winner recalled of the family moment, adding, "Even Maceo knew he'd said something poignant. I have two children. Van has a son. As a mom living this modern, blended family, all I care about is that my kids are okay with my decisions."
Berry shares son Maceo, 8, with ex-husband Olivier Martinez and daughter Nahla, 13, with ex Gabriel Aubry.
A Strong Connection

During the chat, Berry shared how she and Hunt maintained their relationship during the height of the pandemic.
"I have this new amazing love in my life," Berry said of her man.
"Because of COVID we spent four months talking on the phone. We were forced to let only our brains connect and discover if we had a connection before our bodies decided to get involved. I'd never done it this way," she explained, before saying, "I fell in love with his mind, his conversation."
Berry also shared how she felt "stuck in relationships" in the past.
"We want to make it work; we want to fix it," the "Catwoman" star said. "Then we often jump into a new relationship to heal from the old one, and we're just rebounding and never taking the time to grow and take care of ourselves first."
Gushing About Her Man
MEGA
In September 2020, Berry confirmed her romance with Hunt by posting a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt with the musician’s name on it. She wrote in the caption, "now ya know… ♥️🦶🏽."
When they went public, an insider close said the couple had been seeing each other for "several months" and that Hunt had met Berry's children.
The actress gushed about her beau during a red carpet interview in October 2021.
"My love, love, love — my sweetheart. I’ve never had a man that has lifted me up and let me be all that I am," Berry told People.
"I had a lot of support … [Hunt] was a big part of that. He did some music for the movie. He actually wrote the title song," she added.
Being Honest With Her Emotions

Extra also asked Berry whether she and her partner are "madly in love," to which she responded by saying, "We are," adding, "Sometimes you have to wait for things in life. I waited patiently — well, maybe not patiently, but I waited."
Berry also opened up about how her relationship with Hunt has made her a "much better mother" to her two children in the cover story for the December issue of Women's Health.
"I just feel fulfilled. I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist," the Ohio native said. "I'm a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn't serve me and didn't make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman."
She also noted, "I'm reminded that we always have to take care of ourselves first, because I can't be a good mother for my children if I'm not fundamentally happy and feeling good about myself," she added.

In March last year, Berry greeted Hunt on his birthday by sharing an Instagram post. She shared their picture, including two videos.
"A real woman can do it all by herself, but a real MAN won’t let her. Happy birthday VanO. I only wish I’d known you sooner so I could have loved you longer!" she captioned the sweet share.
