Parton does not use her husband's surname professionally but uses it oftentimes when pending signatures on contracts. Dean, a retired Nashville businessman, always ignored publicity stunts regarding his marital relationship.

As a singer, he seldom followed her to perform in concerts because he does not like the attention it brings. On the contrary, Parton believes Dean is romantic for someone who doesn't like public attention.

A Glimpse Of Parton & Dean's Relationship

Although Parton had mastered the art of privacy, she decided to share a peek at how she lives with Dean. On a regular date night, she and Dean like to go to Taco Bell and also drive through town.

They would also try other different things like having a little camper or RV, or better still drive through different fast-food restaurants or eateries and get some stuff. This is just one of the many things they do.

During an interview on SiriusXM Town Hall with Andy Cohen back in 2016, Parton told one of the audiences that she and Dean do whatever makes them happy and comfortable.

Meal Time In Parton And Dean's Home

Unlike most American homes, mealtime is a combined effort from Parton and her husband. The way Parton knows her way when she is putting on her headphones in the studio is the same way she knows her onions in the kitchen.

It might come as a bit of a surprise to her fans that she is a good cook. Regarding the announcement of her new style of cake mixes with Duncan Hines, she sat down with People to discuss having a kitchen-related chat.

In the interview, she talked about her family of six girls who all have good kitchen skills. But out of the six sisters, she confessed that people commended her dumplings and compared them to her mother's.

How Does Dean Help Parton In The Kitchen?

Parton declared that the greatest compliment she cherished was the one she got from her dumplings. Despite her excellent cooking skills, she was not always super enthusiastic about cleaning up afterward.

However, getting married to Dean covered the loophole that her indifference to clean-up caused. She is such a messy cook, so when she is busy in the kitchen, her 79-year-old husband would come in and clean up for her.

She confessed that her husband cleans up the kitchen painstakingly. But sometimes, if she doesn't want anybody around her, she would suggest that he give her space to do it herself or come back later to clean up.

In their twenty-five years of living together, splitting the work during meal time sounded like a compromise to them. They live happily doing that, although their relationship is not open to the public.

Parton Is Proud Of Her Marriage

Although only Parton's passports and a few contracts have Dean's name on them, her marriage is still as peaceful as it can be. In interviews, she proudly says that she is proud of her marriage, and it is the first and would be the last for both of them.
