Nina Dobrev Gushes Over Boyfriend Shaun White’s 5X Olympic Run!

Actress Nina Dobrev just can’t say enough things about her boyfriend Shaun White!

The couple first started dating in 2019. They met each other at an event organized by motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

Ever since then, the pair has been inseparable. They moved in together at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and things have been going great for the outgoing couple since then!

Dobrev, 33, is excited to see the snowboarder, 35, back in the Olympics for the fifth time! White is going to be the oldest U.S. halfpipe rider in the history of the Winter Olympics when he competes in Beijing next month. He will be joined by teammates Taylor Gold, Chase Josey, and Lucas Foster.

In an interview with E! New’ Daily Pop, “The Vampire Diaries” star couldn’t contain her excitement!

“I am really excited for him,” she said. “Just to get into the Olympics at all is one of the hugest accomplishments, let alone to get in five times. I'm so excited. I'm so proud of him.”

Although she isn’t a professional athlete, Dobrev still has plenty of experience on the slopes!

“I actually have been snowboarding since I was really little,” Dobrev added. “I skied first and then I switched over to snowboarding at probably 8 or 9.”

“I think [White] was more surprised when we went [snowboarding] for the first time,” Dobrev continued. “He was expecting to wait for me and it was quite the opposite. I had already passed him by a landslide … I can keep up!”

Back in October, Shaun White took a moment to tell People that he has a “beautiful relationship” with the former “Degrassi” star.

“Nina's incredible,” White said. “What an influence on my life.”

“Not only does she run her own show, her own world, companies she's involved in, things she's producing, all this stuff going on,” he continued. “She holds me to this same high standard which is so wonderful to have in a partner.”

He says that spending time with her in lockdown has really allowed him to evaluate his priorities in life.

“I used to derive so much self-worth and things from these exterior events of competing, winning this award, getting this sponsorship, and doing these things, all these stuff,” he said. “Obviously, it's been an incredible journey and I'm very pleased, not regretful of what I've accomplished in my lifetime and career.”

“To realize that those things of spending quality time with friends and family. During this pandemic, that's what you have — the people around you,” he continued. “They just mean so much more to me now with age and time, and the recent events in the world. They just mean so much to me.”

“Having their support, knowing that they're there for me through thick and thin. Win, lose or draw, they're there for me through everything,” he added. “I'm excited and proud to have them a part of this journey five times. That's crazy.”

White has had a legendary career. He won three gold medals from the 2018 PyeongChang Games, the 2010 Vancouver Games, and the 2006 Turin Games. He also placed fourth at the Sochi Games. White holds the record for the most Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder and has also set a world record for the most X-Games gold medals.

Earlier this month, White told People that their relationship isn’t as effortless as it appears. They both have to balance spending time with one another while also tending to their busy careers.

“We were flying all over,” White said. “She’s an actress so she’s shooting movies, doing press and all these things, and I’m getting ready for competition, doing interviews and appearances.”

But when the pandemic hit, they were able to hit a pause button and really work on their relationship.

“We went to the hardware store bought a bunch of paint, and brushes and definitely got in over our heads, but it was really fun,” he said, admitting that their two dogs – Steve, a French bulldog, and Maverick, Nina’s border collie Australian shepherd mix – became fast friends.

“Steve has a bit of an attitude, but they get along amazingly,” White joked. “So it was really meant to be.”

“Nina's just been so supportive and so amazing through this whole process for me,” White added. “Through the pandemic, she was a lifesaver — she really made that time in my life special.”
