Actress Nina Dobrev is celebrating her 33rd birthday today!

Nina Dobrev was born on January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria as Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva. She and her family later moved to Canada when she was only two years old.

Dobrev celebrated her birthday on her Instagram account, with a montage of her as a very young girl.

“Time flies when you’re a little punk,” she captioned the video. “This lil punk just turned 33.”

Nina Dobrev Has An Impressive Filmography!

In 2006, Nina Dobrev starred in the TV series “Degrassi: The Next Generation” for three seasons. The same year, she also had her very first film role as a teenage zydrate addict in the musical “Repo! The Genetic Opera.”

During that time, she also appeared in several films, including “Fugitive Pieces” and “Award from Her.” She also appeared in several TV films, such as SciFi’s “Never Cry Werewolf,” MTV’s “The American Mall,” and two Lifetime original movies.

Her big break came in 2009 when she left “Degrassi” in order to star as protagonist Elena Gilbert in “The Vampire Diaries.” She also played Elena’s two doppelgangers: Katherine Pierce an Amara. She appeared as yet another doppleganger, Tatia, in “The Vampire Diaries” spin-off show called “The Originals.” Although she left the show after season six, Dobrev returned to give her character a satisfying send-off in the series finale.

For her work on “The Vampire Diaries,” Dobrev has been awarded with nine Teen Choice Awards and three People’s Choice Awards, in addition to several other accolades.

From there, she had smaller roles in the 2010 thriller “Chloe” and the 2011 film “The Roommate.” She also appeared in the 2011 adaption of “The Perks of Being A Wallflower.”

From there, Dobrev appeared in several comedies, including “2014’s “Let’s Be Cops,” 2015’s “The Final Girls,” and “Crash Pad.” In 2017, she appeared in the remake of “Flatliners” and also starred as a weapons specialist in “XXX: Return of Xander Cage.”

Dobrev made her return to television in 2018 it the CBS comedy sitcom “Fam,” although it was canceled after one season. She also appeared in 2019’s “Lucky Day” and 2020’s “Run This Town.”

She is also appeared in the Netflix comedy “The Out-Laws” alongside Adam Sandler and Adam Devine. On December 16, 2021, Dobrev announced that the film had finished filming on her Instagram account. She also shared many photos with the cast and crew, including one that shows her being tested for COVID-19 with a swab up her nose.

“AND THATS A WRAP (for me) on #THEOUTLAWSMOVIE? ‼️‼️” she wrote alongside the snaps. “This job did not feel like a job. It was the most fun with the most incredible people. Such kind, warm & beautiful souls inside and out. Not to mention HILARIOUS. This film is so special, i can’t wait for you guys to see it next year on @Netflix and laugh you’re a--es off. I promise you will.”
