Elliot Page has signed on to executive produce a new documentary that will shine light on young adults transitioning.
The Italian film is titled, “Nel Mio Nome,” which translates to “Into My Name” in English.
The doco will make its grand debut at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival which takes place from February 10 – 20.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary follows the lives of four friends: Nico, Leo, Andrea and Raff, who hail from different parts of Italy.
Elliot Will Exec. Produce Documentary About Trans Youth
The film shows the four friends transitioning from female to male gender identity at different points in their lives. It also portrays the struggle they have transitioning in a binary world.
“Nel Mio Nome” strikes close to home for Page who transitioned from female to male in 2020.
The actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, has starred in a bevy of films such as “Juno,” “Inception” and Netflix’ “Umbrella Academy.”
The film was inspired by director Nicolò Bassetti’s transgender son, Matteo.
Page said in a statement obtained by THR, “What stands out to me about ‘Nel Mio Nome’ is the way it so artfully and intentionally presents all the different pieces that make up a person’s identity.”
He continued, “It’s a meditation on trans humanity, and I’ve never seen another film like it. Knowing that Bassetti consulted closely with his trans son throughout production is so beautiful to me, and I think that lived experience and input is clear in the film’s perspective. I’m honored to be on board and can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Bassetti had nothing but praise for the executive producer.
Elliot Says He's "Never Seen Another Film Like It"
“I am truly grateful to Elliot for adding his lived perspective to help our film find its way in the world,” the director said. “My personal experience as a parent has allowed me, as a director, to find the necessary self-assurance to approach the protagonists of this story, to delve into their emotions, and establish an intimate relationship built on trust and complicity.”
As previously mentioned, Page came out as transgender via a social media post in December 2020.

"Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life," he wrote at the time. “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. An the more I hold myself close and fully embrace. Who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive. To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you. I love you and I will do everything that I can to change this world for the better.”
He Became The First Transgender Man To Cover Time
Page would then become the first transgender man to be the cover star of Time Magazine.

In March 2021, Page revealed to TIME magazine that he was recovering from top surgery, a surgical procedure to remove breast tissue. It’s also called masculinizing chest surgery.
When sitting down with Oprah Winfrey in April, Page revealed his favorite part of transitioning has been the removal of his former breasts.
He said, “Getting out of the shower and the towel is around your waist and you're looking at yourself in the mirror and you're just like, 'There I am.' And I'm not having the moment where I'm panicked."
Page went on to say, “It's being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body for the- probably the first time," and revealed that it brought him "tears of joy."

Since coming out as trans, Page has fully embraced his new figure and shown it off on social media.
Back in May, he posted a photo to his Instagram sporting a pair of red swim trunks, a black hat, sunglasses & chain necklace. Page captioned the photo, “Trans bb’s first swim trunks #transjoy #transisbeautiful.”
Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Nina Dobrev commented, “You look amazing. And most of all happy” while Ruby Rose said, “You look phenomenal!!!”
This photo is a major milestone for the ‘Umbrella Academy’ actor. The picture marks his first ever photo wearing men’s swim trunks since announcing his transition.
Then in November, the actor put his six-pack abs on full display.
The “Juno” actor showed off his lean and muscular body on Instagram over the weekend.
He captioned the sizzling photo, “Oh good my new phone works.”
