Singer Alicia Keys is taking her 41st trip around the sun!

Keys was born Alicia Augello Cook on January 25, 1981, in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. She has been married to Swizz Beats since 2010 and the couple has two children together.

Alicia Keys got her start in the music industry early! At age 12, she was composing her own music, and by age 15, she had already signed a record deal with Columbia Records! She later signed with Arista Records and released her debut alums “Songs in A Minor” with J Records in 2001.

The album was a smashing success for Keys. Her number-one single “Fallin’” sold over 12 million copies worldwide and reached the top slot on the Billboard Hot 100. The album earned Keys a whopping five Grammy Awards in 2002!

Her second album “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” released in 2003, also gave her four more Grammy Awards after selling eight million copies worldwide! Her 2007 album “As I Am” produced the number one single “No One” which helped her scoop up three more Grammy Awards!

Since that time, Keys has put out several more albums, including her seventh studio album, “Alicia,” in 2020. With over 90 million records sold worldwide, Keys is one of the world’s best-selling musical artists and one of the top R&B artists of the decade! She’s won a total of 15 Grammy Awards, 17 NAACP Image Awards, 12 ASCAP Awards, and an award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Music Publishers Association.

She’s also received high praise for his philanthropy and activism, including being awarded the Ambassador of Conscience by Amnesty International. She also co-founded and serves as the Global Ambassador for the nonprofit HIV/AIDS organization called Keep A Child Alive.
