For many years, "Young and the Restless" character Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) had been living in London, experiencing life away from the comfort of his family and the familiarity of his neighborhood.

Fans were ecstatic when he eventually returned and speculated about the multiple parts he could fit into in the show. They imagined he could date Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) or play a business rival for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Although Newman (now played by Rory Gibson) eventually made a comeback, fans' happiness at his return was short-lived. Viewers think his arrival has not brought anything to the table and are clamoring for a change.

Fans Decry The Script Writing For Noah Newman's Return

Sometime last year, the showrunners dropped a spoiler tease that hinted at Newman's return to his hometown of Genoa City. Following his comeback, the fans have voiced their displeasure about his role in the iconic series.

Many of them faulted the scriptwriting for his character, opining that it was poor, lazy, and uninteresting.

One fan said, "This Noah is so sad. Make Noah do something else than just run into Tessa and Mariah all the time!"

"Noah needs an exciting story; the future generation of the show should not be so dull," wrote another fan on Twitter.

In the recent episodes, Newman has interacted with his ex, whose current love interest is a woman. Although their interactions were to spice up the show, it seems fans are getting more displeased with the acting despite their initial clamor for his return.

Fans Wanted Noah Newman To Return To The Show

Newman made his comeback to "The Young and the Restless" in October 2021. He joined his family in Tuscany for Victoria Newman's (Amelia Heinle) nuptials. After the wedding ceremony, he came back to Genoa City and has started a new life.

Newman's return came on the backdrop of fans clamor to see the comeback of several legacy characters who pioneered the drama series. Now that they have him back, the current overview clearly shows his role is not arousing the same emotions fans felt in his former days.

Luckily, more episodes of the current season are yet to debut, which gives fans a slight hope that the scriptwriting might change to bring more content about Newman that will elicit some nostalgia about his return.

Noah Newman, Tessa Porter, And Mariah Copeland Love Triangle

Newman's decision to leave for London came after his breakup with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). The pair were in a loving relationship at the time but parted ways when Newman learned of Tessa's dalliance with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).

After Newman's move to London, Tessa and Mariah started a relationship seeing as they had feelings for each other. Newman likewise got over his heartbreak and started dating in London but broke up before returning to Genoa City.

Since making his comeback, Newman's has been helping Porter create her new album. The pair had gotten over their grudges at the wedding in Tuscany and had agreed to be friends. However, fans believe there might be trouble in paradise for Porter and Copeland's relationship as it seems Newman will be the third led in their love affair.

Fans Are Against Noah and Tessa Rekindling Their Affair

Fans want Newman to steer his rudder away from Porter-Copeland's relationship. They cited ladies like Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) have no attachment and seem like prime candidates to fit the role of Newman's new girlfriend.

Viewers also feel that the show could bring in Newman's ex from London. Although she only came up in discussions, Newman had a strong emotional attachment to her, which spurred him to leave London after the breakup.

If the showrunners follow this approach, her arrival will create its own brand of drama and give the scriptwriters more leeway in building Newman's role.
