18-year-old dancer, singer, and “Dance Moms” alum Jojo Siwa is celebrating her first anniversary of having come out to her fans, as LGBTQ. And she can’t be happier about it, as remembers all the love she has received in her journey.
Here’s what she had to say, on Instagram, before she jumped back on stage doing what she loved to do.
Jojo Siwa Received Outpouring Of Support From Celebs
Siwa first shot to fame in “Dance Moms” before merchandizing happened. Soon, people knew her for her fashion and accessories as well as her music, aimed at the younger gen. In 2017, she signed up with Nickelodeon and came in movies like “Blurt” and more. She became the youngest contestant on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” She also became the first person to appear with a same-sex partner in “Dancing With the Stars“, something she received a ton of support for.
She came out in 2021, and celebs jumped in with all the enthusiasm they could offer, including this heartwarming, if grammatically incorrect tweet by Lil Nas X.
if u spell “swag” backwards, it’s “gay”. coincidence??

Siwa celebrated her first year of coming out with the same picture she made her original announcement with, only now, the caption had changed.
Siwa started her post by saying how much love she had received over the year, saying it was “more love than ever.” She wrote, “A year ago today I posted this picture and shared with the world that I was gay🌈”
She continued saying that got asked a lot if coming out was scary for her and said, “the answer is yes of course, anything that’s different about you is scary, however… it’s what makes me… me. So I had no fear with sharing it with the world❤️”
Siwa also believes that she “was put on this earth to be a role model for kids, and letting all the kids of the world know that loving everyone for who they are no matter what is something that I will always believe in and always share❤️”
She ended her message with even more positivity with her fans, asking them, “please never forget that no matter who you are, what you look like, who you LOVE that you are absolutely perfect. thank you for showing me the most love throughout this year and throughout my entire life. I love you all❤️🙏🏼🏳️🌈.”
Jojo Siwa Is Okay With Trolls
In an earlier interview, Siwa had mentioned that she made the mistake of Googling about herself after she came out, and was taken aback by the negative comments. While many supported her, some felt she was too young to come out and was making a bad impression on children.
Today, she’s okay with all that as she said, “My thing is, I don’t want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren’t going to support not only me but the LGBTQ community.”
Meanwhile, her mom is her biggest champion, as she wrote on Siwa’s Instagram, “Love you so much ❤️and so proud of everything you do, the big things and the little things ❤️.”
