Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband just won a little victory in divorce court, after the singer agreed to give 5% of the couple's Montana ranch to him.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Brandon Blackstock will receive 5.12% of the former couple's Montana ranch. The real estate amounts to $908,800 or the total $17,750,000 net worth of the property.
As we reported, the ranch has become a hotbed of arguments between the ex-couple after Blackstock told the court he was pursuing a career as a full-time rancher, after hanging up his music management shoes. During a recent divorce hearing, the judge ordered the ranch as Kelly's property, but she lost the bid to have him evicted from the premises. The talk show host wants to sell the property, but Blackstock argued he had no means to purchase a new home, and needed the ranch for his career.
Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Husband Allowed To Live On The Montana Ranch
"He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce," a source told UsWeekly. Adding, "Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded solely to her."
At the time, Blackstock argued that the home was "marital property" and continue to live in it since their 2020 split.
It should be noted, the new documents make it clear that Blackstock does not have any ownership interest in the property adjoining the ranch that is owned solely by Clarkson.
'The Voice' Star Ordered To Pay Ex-Husband $200,000 A MONTH In Support
We broke the story, Clarkson was ordered to pay her ex-husband $200,000 a month in spousal support, although he requested $436,000. But, the money would also have to be used to pay the upkeep and bills at the Montana ranch.
'The Voice' star petitioned the court to become a single woman, asking for the judge to sign off on the dissolution of marriage while the financial settlement could be worked out. "Both deserve the opportunity to build a new life," the document read. Clarkson was also granted primary physical custody in November of their children, River Rose, and Remington Alexander.
As you know, the couple is fighting through a nasty split, after Clarkson accused her ex-husband's father -- who managed Kelly -- of fraudulence and "acting illegally" while working with her. He has denied the allegations. Narvel Blackstock was previously married to Reba McEntire.
Kelly Clarkson Reportedly Wants To 'Enjoy Her Success' Following Nasty Split
The couple split after 7 years of marriage, and an insider noted "The relationship has been on the rocks for a long time," and "She was the high-income earner with a wildly successful talk show, and is the star of another hit show, The Voice. Brandon was extremely jealous of it and made her know it."
Following the split, the source explained Clarkson was excited to "enjoy her success" without worrying how Blackstock would react. Also, "Kelly doesn’t take credit for her success but shares it with the team she works with. It’s just who she is."
