Mike Hill Shocks Fans, Discusses Marital Issues With Former ‘RHOA’ Star Cynthia Bailey

Over a year has passed since sportscaster and TV personality Mike Hill tied the knot with former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Cynthia Bailey.

Fans followed their love story on Bailey's last three seasons of the reality series and saw it culminate in a lavish Georgia wedding. The elapsed time has helped the pair grow fonder of each other, and they continue to thrill fans with their love story via their posts on social media.

However, all that glitters is indeed not gold, as Hill recently revealed that he and his partner had faced some road bumps within the short time of their marriage.

It is a common occurrence for couples to have some arguments. Considering this, it wasn't surprising when the sportscaster admitted to having a tense disagreement with his newly wedded wife.

He revealed this in an interview with Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, citing that the argument came up while celebrating their wedding anniversary.

"Sunday was our anniversary, and then I took Monday off and had to go back to work on Tuesday. We basically stayed in town and went to this great hotel that's in town in West Hollywood, and we just chilled, went to dinner, and enjoyed each other's company," he said.

"But I'll say because we are also very transparent…yeah we argue, and I'm going to tell you right now that Sunday was great [but] that Monday, I was like, 'We might not make it to year two.' Because it was just something that happened, I don't go too far into our business - it was nothing malicious. It was just a misunderstanding. A lot of times, it's just communication."

Hill and Bailey's wiliness to work through their difficult moments sustained their marriage even when outside challenges tried to cause them some trouble. The couple recently faced another bump in their marriage when a woman claimed that she had sent her nudes to Hill.

When TMZ caught up with Hill and Bailey, the couple proved to the public that there was no trouble in paradise. They denounced the woman's allegations, tagging it as an annoying rumor. The sportscaster further threatened to take legal actions if the woman continued painting him in a bad light.

"We'll take care of it the way it's supposed to be taken care of," he said to the news outlet. Hill also admitted he does not have any relationship with his accuser but hoped she would seek psychological help.

During her stint on "RHOA," Bailey often discussed her love life. She once claimed that she was engaged five times, but in each case, the engagement ended. However, the narrative changed when she met Peter Thomas as the couple eventually got married on the show.

Sadly, the pair's marriage got hit with cheating scandals against Thomas. It drove a wedge between their bond and slowly killed off the love they shared. Their marriage also faced financial troubles, which eventually led to Bailey filing for divorce in 2016.

Post-divorce, Bailey got back into the dating pool but was not interested in walking down the aisle with anyone. She felt scarred by the failure of her previous marriage and would rather live her life alone.

Months after her divorce, Bailey met Hill during a dating segment on "The Steve Harvey Show." Although Bailey wanted to opt for a different person, Harvey convinced her that Hill was the right man.

Subsequently, Bailey fell for Hill hard and fast. She retracted her previous decision about marriage and started seeing the possibility of walking down the aisle with Hill.

"With Mike, the question for me I ask myself is not would I get married again. It became 'Would I marry Mike?' Yeah, I'll marry Mike for sure because Mike is – he feels right to me," the former supermodel told ESSENCE in 2019.

"He just feels good, and he makes me happy, and I feel good when I'm with him, and he's just his own person – he's a whole person, I'm a whole person and, when we're together, it's great."
