Country singer Dolly Parton is celebrating her 76th birthday today!

Although she’s best known as a singer, Dolly Parton is also an actress, author, businesswoman, and humanitarian.

She made her debut album “Hello, I’m Dolly” in 1967, and her career took off! She has her own record label, called Dolly Records, and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

After having 25 songs reach the number one spot on the Billboard country music charts, she has also had 44 career Top 10 country albums and has over 100 career-charted singles in the past 40 years.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, she has also been nominated for 50 Grammy Award nominations! She has won 11 Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. She has also won 10 Country Music Association Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. She’s also won 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. She has also picked up 4 People’s Choice Awards and 3 American Music Awards.

In 1999, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. If all that isn’t enough, she is also co-owner of The Dollywood Company, which created the Dollywood amusement park, a dinner theater, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the Dollywood’s Splash Country waterpark, and Dream More Resort and Space in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

‘Jolene’

This live version of “Jolene,” performed in 1974, has become an instant hit with fans.

“This is the best version of this song live I swear to god, it hit different,” one fan wrote.

“The fact that she wrote ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’ in one session gives me goosebumps to this day,” another fan wrote.

Although Dolly Parton has been a part of some incredible duets during the years, one of the most recognizable is her 1982 duet of “Islands In The Stream” featuring Kenny Rogers. Rogers sadly passed away on March 20, 2020.
