Chrissy Teigen Shares Adorable Photo Of '3-Legged Dream' Penny

Chrissy Teigen celebrates her dog in a sweet photo.

The former "Lip Sync Battle" star, 36, took to Instagram and penned a loving tribute to her furry friend named Penny. Teigen also shared a picture of the "3-legged" pooch.

"She’s not dead!! Just awesome," Teigen wrote. "Penny should be around 9 years old this year and she’s a wonderful lady. I don’t know if I’ve ever really shared the story of us getting this 3-legged dream, but many years ago, someone tagged me in a photo of her to amplify her adoption (she was pulled from a horribly abusive situation, hence the leg and tail broken in many diff places, wtf) and I selfishly took her for myself!"

She also shared that Penny's former caretaker didn't like Teigen's husband owning the dog as she thought the musician was "wild and crazy."

The model continued, "I remember the rescue lady who fostered her not loving the idea of a touring musician having her, as she definitely thought all musicians were wild and crazy party people bahahahhaah she made John’s tour bus stop in her town so she could see for herself how truly boring we are lol. anyhoo, we are grateful to her (I believe the rescue was called Noah’s Ark!) and for our lucky penny!"

Teigen added a note in the comments section: "I definitely didn’t know the challenges of a FRONT leg missing over a back one but phew, it used to hurt to see her drag her face around but she is a resilient one and doesn’t miss a beat. She is such a wonderful girl and loves all people, even with all that’s happened to her! ❤️"

The new addition to her feed proved to be a popular one, as the upload received more than 198,000 likes and 1,100-plus comments in less than a day. Followers dropped gushing messages, while some admirers opted to express their feelings with their choice of emojis.

"She is my favorite and so full of life!!!! She was such a huge help as she helped us pop balloons! Can’t wait to play with her again!!!! 🎈Happy Birthday Penny!" one commented.

"Thank you for saving this precious girl. I’d say Penny hit the jackpot with her new family and home. Dogs make@life so much better," added another follower.

Teigen introduced Penny to her fans in June 2014.

"NEW FAMILY MEMBER ALERT!! She is our new little tripod lovebug. Yes. She has 3 legs WHICH IS MORE THAN YOU OKAY," she wrote in a tweet, as seen on ABC News.

The "Cravings: Hungry for More" author also explained how the puppy won their hearts.

"I won't get too into it but let's just say her first family were buttheads and we are happy to shower her with love for the rest of time!" she wrote.

At the time, the Legends already owned two dogs named Puddy and Miss Pippa, an English Bulldog and a French Bulldog, respectively. However, the latter died last year.

After some weeks, they had a new addition to their family -- a basset hound named Pearl.

Teigen shared the lovely news on Instagram.

"Pearl has touched down into the legend/teigen/stephens household! We love this little girl so much already but I will admit, she has definitely taken to John first!! Penny is obsessed with her so it’s been fun watching the adventures of penny and pearl unfold," she captioned the share. "I grew up with Basset Hounds so I can’t wait for John to see this bouncy, no-bones, jello mold of skin grow into the stubborn logs of love I love so much.
