A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the longtime lovers were happily engaged following a romantic proposal last Christmas Eve in Barbados, where the couple's love story began.

The record executive took his longtime girlfriend on a romantic walk on the beach, where he popped the big question.
This tender moment was even sweeter with the presence of their loved ones — Eric, the couple's son, and Adam, Silverman's oldest son from a previous relationship.
Regarding the engagement, the insider told the news outlet that the lovebirds couldn't be happier with their new relationship status. The source said:
