The three co-stars had an interesting discussion about their Spidey suit!
Andrew Garfield, 38, has many similarities with his fellow actors, Tobey Maguire, 46, and Tom Holland, 25. They all love acting, they play the same Marvel character, and they wear the same one-piece suit for their roles.
When the three got together for "Now Way Home," they compared their costumes and even talked about the "padding in the package."
An Interesting Topic
"I think the first time we were all in the suit together, it was hilarious because it’s like just three ordinary dudes who were just actors just hanging out, Garfield told Variety.
He continued, "But then also, you just become a fan and say, 'Oh my god we’re all together in the suits and we’re doing the pointing thing!'"
The "Tick, Tick... Boom!" star also revealed that they discussed "about going to the bathroom and, you know, padding around the package," adding, "We talked about what worked for each of us."
Garfield also noted, "Tom was jealous because I have little zippers in my suit that I can get my hands out of very easily. To work his phone, he had to use his nose because he couldn’t access his hands."
Their Close Bond

While at the set, the actors "would have deeper conversations," as per Garfield. They would "talk about our experiences with the character. And to have Amy Pascal there, who has seen through nine movies, including 'Spider-Verse.'"
He added, "It was a revelatory experience for her, realizing how much life and time she’d given to this character. That was beautiful and profound."
Garfield also revealed that he did something in the movie that was not on the script.
"There’s a line I improvised in the movie, looking at [Maguire and Holland] and I tell them I love them. That was just me loving them," he explained.
He's Open To The Idea
The "Hacksaw Ridge" actor made a surprise appearance in the latest "Spider-Man" film, along with Maguire. They both reprised their roles, together with Holland, the current franchise star. As to whether he would fully return as the friendly neighborhood superhero in the near future, Garfield didn't hesitate to respond.
"I mean, yes, [I would be] definitely open to something if it felt right," he said.
The actor also discussed his on-screen time in the movie. Garfield said that he and Maguire "were shooting for two weeks," adding, "I think we managed to achieve something that is not just showing up and going, 'Hi! Bye!'"
The Closure That His Spider-Man Needed
For his Spider-Man, he had Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone. While Maguire had Mary Jane Watson, portrayed by Kirsten Dunst. As per the publication, screenwriters were considering bringing back the characters. Garfield revealed that while Gwen's fate was tragic, it was meant to be as she "had a hand in her own destiny."
It was actually their scene with Holland's MJ, played by Zendaya, that "sold" him on the film.
"Gwen had agency. In our film, on her final day, she shows up. I tried to restrain her from showing up to that scene with Electro [Jamie Foxx]," he explained.
He continued, "I knew that it was too dangerous, but she chose to be there. She had a hand in her own destiny in that way, and the movie is about fate. I will say the image of my catching [Zendaya’s] MJ — that was really beautiful and it kind of sold me on the whole thing."
