Are you one of those people who need their daily dose of tacos to go on about your day? If so, then this subscription service might be one you’re going to want to consider signing up for. Taco Bell has announced that they’re launching a subscription service through their app that’s going to allow folks to pay a monthly fee for a daily dose of tacos. The promo is going to be available only for a limited time on the Taco Bell app. Maybe, as a soft opening or gimmick-like scheme to see if folks really go for it. Before we get into whether having a taco subscription is a good idea or not, let’s see what the service includes.
Who Goes To Taco Bell For Just One Taco?
When you go to Taco Bell is one taco enough to squash your appetite? If so, you’re in luck since the subscription service that the fast food chain is offering only allows people access to one taco per day as a subscriber. That’s not nearly enough for certain appetites. The service is set to cost 10 dollars for the full month. Essentially for 10 dollars you can get up to as many as 30 tacos. The only thing is that you’d have to order on the Taco Bell app every single day to be able to take full advantage of your taco allowance.
Just A Gimmick or A Long Term Plan?
Subscription services are everywhere now. People can add the 10 dollar fee from Taco Bell to their shopping list of subscription services that may include a membership fee from Sam’s or Costco, and the family Netflix, and Spotify plans. Is Taco Bell in the subscription service game for the long haul though? That’s basically TBD! Subscriptions initially are only going to be open from now until January the 16th. They can be purchased through the Taco Bell app and redeemed at any participating location. As we mentioned though, that tentative January 16th deadline for subscribers seems to indicate that Taco Bell is essentially holding a soft opening for their service, or they’re just trying a gimmicky promo.
This Is Actually Stage 2 Of The Development Plan For This Subscription Service
Although the fast-food giant is still holding back a bit with this launch, they’ve already tested a similar subscription service before. Taco Bell launched virtually the same subscription service idea, but with just certain stores around the Tucson Arizona area back in September 2021. According to reports from CNN, that trial run was actually quite a success. Allowing the user base for Taco Bell’s app in the area to go up by around 20%.
The one taco per day cap may not be great news for some potential users. When it comes to taco variety though there’s not much to complain about. The taco lover’s pass menu includes the Soft or Crunchy Taco Supreme, Doritos Locos Tacos, and Spicy Potato Tacos. In the Arizona tests, Taco Bell reported that the Doritos Locos Tacos were the ones preferred by the residents of Tucson Arizona.
