Sarah Michelle Gellar is paying tribute to Seth Green on the actor’s 47th birthday with a special walk down memory lane that included photos that prove the two have pretty much been friends their entire lives. SMG took to Instagram on Monday with a message to Green, who starred as the guitar playing werewolf, Oz, on the first four seasons of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah Michelle Gellar is not able to spend Seth Green’s birthday with the star in person but is settling for the social media shoutout.
“Well @sethgreen , 36 plus years of friendship, 3 continents, goodness knows how many hair colors, and shockingly for hollywood, only two marriages between us,” Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote alongside a photo montage of the two throughout the years.
Speaking on the time apart, she added, “Sadly this is the longest I’ve gone without a hug from you EVER. So on your birthday, this digital hug and trip down memory lane will have to do. Happy birthday my dear friend, I miss you madly.”
Although he could not get the message in person, Seth Green was clearly feeling the love and hopped into the comments of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s post to issue a response.
“You’re truly the best. I feel so lucky to have you as a friend all this time. Such a consistently wonderful and inspiring human- love you my friend,” the “Robot Chicken” creator wrote.
Seth Green is not the only “Buffy” star who Sarah Michelle Gellar keeps in touch with, as she has also revealed to be very close friends with Michelle Trachtenberg, who played her little sister Dawn on the long-running series.
