Lil Baby was in Tampa for the weekend to attend festivities for the Super Bowl, as the big game took place on Sunday night. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in their home stadium, ended up smacking the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9. Prior to the game starting, Baby took to his social media feeds to reveal many teenage fans who found the home that he had been renting in Tampa for the weekend. In the video posted to his Instagram, the Atlanta rapper said “Come outside to a whole mob.”
Baby Decided To Switch Homes After Spotting Fans
In the same video on Baby‘s IG stories, he also said that he has to get a new house. From that point, it’s unclear how quickly Baby left the home to find another one to escape fans. One can only wonder how many of them decided to follow him to his new home, though. This appears to be a very common issue for celebrities who travel out of town as their stardom definitely attracts locals who want to either take a photo or video with them.
Baby Appeared In Rockstar Energy Ad During Super Bowl LV
Baby was involved in the Super Bowl as well as he appeared in a commercial for Rockstar Energy. Here, the Quality Control Music artist was seen performing, having a taste of the energy drink, and others in the ad doing things such as riding motorcycles and designing outfits.
“I wasn’t born in the spotlight,” said Baby in the commercial. Nah, I had to grind to shine, like a star on a hot night. And something ’bout the struggle now resides in my muscles. And every trial and trouble helped to hame my hustle. Real rockstars don’t chase the spotlight, it chases them.”
Lil Baby Dominated In 2020 With ‘My Turn’ Album
This month also marks a year since Baby released his sophomore album, “My Turn.” From that point, he became a superstar in the industry. That project contained platinum hits such as “Woah, “Sum 2 Prove,” and “Emotionally Scarred.” My Turn debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is also 2x platinum in the US.
The deluxe edition was also released in May and that contained another huge record for Baby in “We Paid” featuring breakout Detroit rapper, 42 Dugg.
Baby Is Nominated For Two Grammy Awards Next Month
The 2021 Grammy Awards will finally take place next month on March 14 as well after originally being postponed in January due to COVID-19 concerns in Los Angeles. As far as Baby goes, he has a chance to win big there as well. He is nominated in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories. These are both for his 2020 single, “The Bigger Picture.”
This record addressed injustices in the United States such as racism and police brutality. This was released in the midst of nationwide protests as a result of Minneapolis PD Officer, Derek Chauvin, killing unarmed Black man, George Floyd, in May. He and two other officers knelt on his neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds. The other officers were J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao.
