On January 20, 2021, America declared into office its 46th President, Joe Biden.
The ceremony was attended by A-list celebrities, including Lady Gaga, Garth Brooks, and Chrissy Teigen, who traveled to Washington, D.C. However, the model did not spend her morning in the way many expected. Here’s what happened.
During the 45th president’s tenure, there was no love lost between him and Teigen as they openly criticized each other. So, it came as no surprise that the mom-of-three threw in her lot with Trump’s opposition for the 2020 presidential elections.
Celebrating A New Era
When Biden was announced as the winner of the presidential race, the “Lip Sync Battle” commentator and her husband, singer John Legend took to the streets to celebrate alongside other West Hollywood residents.
In a drive-by, the ecstatic couple hung out the top of their car and joined in on the cheers.
As with many other celebrities, the Legends sided with the candidate they believed in and were also one of the few who got to spend time with their chosen candidate.
Support From Way Back
During the election rally in November 2020, Legend was handpicked to perform, so he, Teigen, and their kids Luna and Miles made the journey to the east coast.
Legend shared that all he could muster was, “Hi everyone! Before the crowd went wild. He also shared how honored he was to support Biden and Kamala Harris.
For the January 2021 inauguration, the “All Of Me” singer was announced as a performer. He, alongside Teigen and their children, had to travel from L. A to Philly for the occasion.
A Presidential Rehearsal
In her usual fashion, Teigen shared details about their journey via photos and videos.
She also shared rehearsal shots the night before the ceremony with several photos and videos in a series of tweets. In another tweet, Teigen shared that she was scolded by fans online for her post as the whole rehearsal arrangement was supposed to be a secret.
She jokingly told her fans to act surprised the next day. Reporting live from her room window, Teigen shared that movement was restricted until the family gets their results.
Now We Step Up In Style
On the D-Day, Teigen posted a series of shots on Twitter and her Instagram Story. She explained that she was “reporting live,” and alongside her husband, as she watched Jennifer Lopez and Biden make their way to the event.
She continued that she and her family had had 7 COVID-19 tests in the last seven days for various shoots and this event, but since they all came out negative, she couldn’t wait to get dressed, mingle, step outside, and have professional shots.
