Eilish Spoke About Pornography In ‘Male Fantasy’

Eilish has often used her songs to send strong statements about how she feels about specific topics. She has spoken about mental health, first love, growing up, and many other things.

She also did this in one of her songs, “Male Fantasy,” where she spoke about pornography. The song’s lyrics include statements like, “Distract myself with pornography, I hate the way she looks at me. I can’t stand the dialogue; she would never be that satisfied. It’s a male fantasy. I’m goin’ back to therapy.”

With these lyrics, it was clear Eilish was talking about her experience with pornography, and she clarified this in a recent interview she had with Vice. The “Lovely” singer revealed that she wrote “Male Fantasy” because she believes that porn is something that is “misogynistic and totally ridiculous.”

She also shared that she was exposed to porn on a regular basis right from when she was 11 years old. Eilish explained that at the time, watching so much porn made her feel cool and like “one of the guys,” but in the long run, it had a substantial negative impact on her.

She said, “I think it really destroyed my brain and I feel incredibly devastated that I was exposed to so much porn. I’m so angry that porn is so loved, and I’m so angry at myself for thinking that it was OK. The way that vaginas look in porn is f–king crazy… No vaginas look like that. Women’s bodies don’t look like that. We don’t come like that.”

Porn Negatively Affected Her

Eilish admitted that despite the initial benefits she enjoyed from watching porn, she realized that it also had its disadvantages as she grew older. She shared that she soon began suffering from nightmares due to some of the violent and abusive content she watched.

She also stated that porn had a significant impact on how she viewed herself, sex, and relationships in general. She said, “The first few times I, you know, had sex, I was not saying no to things that were not good. It was because I thought that’s what I was supposed to be attracted to.”
