Blake Shelton's Proposal 'Was Right On Time' Says Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani's engagement to country musician Blake Shelton is no new story. The “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” singer has been seen in multiple occasions with Shelton, looking cozy.

The news of their relationship came into the public as not so much of a surprise. However, the two seemed to be deeply in love with each other as time went on, that fans kept anticipating their wedding. Thankfully, it's going to happen soon

Stefani said that her husband-to-be proposed to her at the right time. She spoke about her reason for saying so in an interview.

The country musician Shelton has been married before to his high school sweetheart Kaynette Williams in 2003. Unfortunately their marriage didn't last as they were divorced three years later. Shelton then met Miranda Lambert, fell in love with her, and they got married in 2011.

Unfortunately this relationship fell apart again, as they got divorced in 2015. Stefani on the other hand, was also married twice to Tony Kanal and Gavin Rossdale.

She got divorced from Rossdale in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. She has three lovely sons with Rossdale, named Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. 

Stefani and Shelton first met each other as judges on “The Voice,” at that time, they were both handling their divorce from their respective partners.

They worked on some collaborations together, and got closer with time. Their relationship was officially announced in 2015, when Shelton revealed it during an interview with “Billboard.”

He said “Gwen saved my life. Who else on earth could understand going through a high profile divorce from another musician?”

“You can't even imagine the similarities in our divorce.... Next thing I know, I wake up and Gwen's all I care about, and I'm wondering if she feels the same about me.”

Stefani had said that they weren't in a hurry to get married but their relationship was serious. They've been dating each other ever since. 

After about six years of dating, Shelton finally proposed to the “Hollaback Girl” singer in October 2020. Stefani on an instagram post shared a lovely picture of her engagement ring. 

During an episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” she spilled the beans on how Shelton proposed to her in Oklahoma during her birthday.

She said “And I walked in and my son was sitting right by the fireplace, and Blake basically was getting down on his knees to do a fire, and he goes, 'Hey, can you look in that cabinet over there and get me a fire starter?' So I opened the cabinet and there was a ring in a box, and I was like, 'Ahhhh! What?! Are you serious?!'”

Again, during an interview with the “Today” show Stefani talked about how her fiancé was her perfect match. She referred to their first meeting as “Weird” because they were both getting divorced from their partners. Stefani from Rossdale and Shelton from Lambert.

She realized that they both had “a lot of healing to do.” She said “I think in a romantic way when you fall in love so hard and so unexpectedly and so late in your life, you think,'I wanna marry you, like now!' That's the first romantic reaction,”  

She added that when Shelton proposed to her in October 2020, “It was right on time.” We all anticipate their wedding, and hope that they stay together and happy as well.
