“Sex and the City” and “Emily in Paris” fans have created a frenzy on social media with a theory of Samantha Jones’ whereabouts.
Kim Cattrall famously played the ICONIC role of Samantha, the PR guru, from ‘SATC.’
The actress played the role of the sex-positive and forward-thinking Samantha throughout the entire six seasons of the HBO show, as well as, the two spin-off movies.
Could Kim Cattrall Reprise Her Role As ‘Samantha Jones?’
However, Cattrall refused to reprise her role for the reboot, “And Just Like That…” with the core group of actresses who brought ‘SATC’ to life.
Cattrall had a very public falling out with Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP), which in turn led her to exit the series’ reboot, ‘AJLT.’
In episode one of the reboot, devout fans of Samantha discover she left NYC after Carrie Bradshaw (SJP) fired her from being her PR agent. Its revealed that Samantha packed her bags, took a trip across the pond and lives a luxurious life in London.
Now, fans of the series are thinking Samantha could make an appearance in season 3 of Netflix’s “Emily in Paris.”
‘Emily in Paris’ Fans Hope Samantha Makes An Appearance
Despite people loving to hate the show, it’s still getting views and in turn keeps getting renewed.
Please note, this theory is entirely based upon fan speculation.
Many are theorizing (and hoping) that since Emily, played by Lily Collins, works for a marketing agency in Paris, there is a chance she could go to work for Samantha’s PR agency in London.
One person tweeted, “It would’ve been better if Samantha Jones was Emily in Paris’s boss.”
One eagle-eyed fan tweeted, “Crazy that there’s a post-credit sequence at the end of this season of Emily in Paris with a title card saying “LONDON” and then a shot of Samantha Jones walking across the Millennium Bridge saying into her cellphone: “Honey, Emily, we’re going to have to get you out of Paris.”
‘SATC’ and “Emily in Paris” were both created by TV producer, Darren Star.

Given this convenient coincidence, and given the fan outcry for Samantha’s return, many are hoping Star writes Samantha into season three of the series.
Here’s where things get sticky.
Cattrall has said in previous interviews that she feels the role of Samantha is done. She personally has wiped her hands clean of the role, and explained during a 2017 interview with Piers Morgan that it was time to end that chapter.
“It’s a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some, and loved it. And another actress should play it. Maybe they could make it an African American Samantha Jones, or a Hispanic Samantha Jones,” she explained to Morgan. “I have released Samantha.”
Morgan proceeded to say, “Just to finally clarify, she [Samantha] will never reappear in any ‘Sex and the City,’” before Cattrall interjected saying, “Me playing her, that I can assure you, will never… it’s over.”
