Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were once the top power couple of Hollywood. Their immense wealth afforded them the financial leverage to make their lives a living paradise. However, like most matters of love and marriage, more is needed to sustain the bond.

Kardashian and West on and off drama seemed like lovers' squabble until their relationship deteriorated, leading to the reality star filling for divorce earlier this year. With the divorce proceedings still ongoing, Kardashian remained married to West legally. Now, the mother of four wants to cut off all marital bonds even before the court makes its judgment on her divorce. She has filed to be legally single and drop West from her last name. As per an insider, she rushed to see her new beau, Pete Davidson, after filing the papers.

Before agreeing to part ways earlier this year, Kardashian and West wanted to work through things in marriage counseling in a last-ditch effort to save their marriage.

Sadly, their well-intending efforts could not reignite the spark in their relationship, and both parties now know that their time together has come to an end. However, the SKIMS founder is the most eager of the pair to cut off the vestiges of her past relationship as she has taken steps like filling to become legally single.

One could question the intention behind her urgent move. The answer might lie in her recent fling with superstar Pete Davidson. After filling the papers, the reality star was eager to see her new beau. An insider close to Kardashian confirmed her desire to meet up with Davidson.

"After filing these papers to become legally single and drop West from her last name over a week ago, the only thing that Kim really wanted was to see Pete," the source told the news outlet.

Following this, it is safe to assume that Kardashian wants to give her all to her new relationship and does not want her old ties to be an element in the affair.

To satisfy her yearnings, Kardashian traveled to New York to meet Davidson. While at the Big Apple, the two engaged in fun activities such as going to the movies and dining at posh restaurants. Davidson even introduced Kardashian to his mother, which seemingly implies that he wants to be committed to their relationship.

The pair's affair is a case of divine intervention as the reality star had no plans of dating anyone for a while. Having fallen in love with themselves, Davidson and Kardashian keep their conversations away from the tittle-tattles of Hollywood and only dwell on the real and authentic.

"Their conversations are real and authentic. They talk a lot about life and death, about spirituality, about current world affairs, and her work in criminal justice reform," the source also confided.

Kardashian and Davidson linked up when she hosted "Saturday Night Live." The pair realized they shared similar interests and were keen to continue the connection. Subsequently, they got spotted hanging out on different occasions before news broke that they had started dating.

According to a friend, Kardashian did not care what the media would think about their relationship as she really loves Davidson.

"Kim is absolutely head over heels for Pete," she said. "In all honesty, she didn't know what to expect when she first started seeing him. She knows it would be a big deal in the media, but she had such a great time with him during her Saturday Night Live appearance and thought why not try it out."

She added that the comedian makes Kardashian smile every time they are together, and it was cute seeing her get butterflies around him.

Almost a year has elapsed since Kardashian took the first step to end the "Kimye" tag given to her and West by the media. On Friday, February 19, after six years of marriage, she filed for divorced and agreed to share custody with West for their four kids.
