Family of Teen Who Tried To Kill Queen Elizabeth Speaks Out

The Queen's holiday plans had to be shifted due to the current COVID spike that has taken place in the UK.
Her Majesty decided it was best to stay at Windsor Castle for the holidays instead of heading over to her Sandringham estate. Keeping the number of people invited over for Christmas lunch and dinner lower than usual. 19-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail was looking to take advantage of Her Majesty's decision to sneak into Windsor Castle and potentially end The Queen's life!
The teen had reportedly sent a video of himself in an all black outfit with a mask and armed with a cross bow to friends on Snapchat. This went down minutes before the police arrested him on the grounds of Windsor Castle, finding that he truly was armed.
At this point we have a lot more questions than answers regarding this botched assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeth. Jaswant Singh Chail's family has spoken out after the incident. With his father claiming that none of his family members were aware of the teen's intentions.
'Something's Gone Horribly Wrong With Our Son'
When interviewed by The Mail Online, the father of 19-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail was quick to mention that he was not aware of what his son's plans were. He mentioned that the family has not been able to speak to Jaswant to this point. It is believed that the boy was taken to a mental institution after being caught by police on Windsor Castle grounds. The father of the teen had this to say to The Mail Online,
"Something’s gone horribly wrong with our son and we are trying to figure out what." he would go on to add, "From our perspective, we are going through a difficult time. We are trying to resolve this issue and it’s not easy."
The Family Hasn't Been Able To Speak To Jaswant Singh Chail
The father of the teen was clear that the family has not been able to speak to their son ever since he was apprehended on Christmas day. He didn't mention anything about contact before that date.
Reports indicate that Jaswant was about 500+ yards from Her Majesty's private apartments when he was apprehended by police. He was taken into custody about a half hour after he shared the chilling video on Snapchat saying that he was plotting to kill The Queen.
It seems that the trespassing was the issue that got him arrested. Authorities didn't know of the video until he was in custody. Jaswant's father mentioned,
"We’ve not had a chance to speak to him but are trying to get him the help he needs."

Why The Teen Is Being Kept Out Of Contact With His Family
If you're ever arrested in the UK know that you have very similar rights to what you'd have stateside.
The law even states that police will try and contact the legal guardians of people under 18, and "vulnerable adults" who are taken into custody. People are starting to question why this was not the case with Jaswant. Granted, if anyone in the US tried to kill the president they probably would be held in custody for a long while without contact to the outside.
So far there's hasn't been any talk about security around The Queen tightening up. Although that's probably the case.
Meanwhile, as we mentioned it is believed that the teen who tried to attack her is being held at a mental institution.
