Olivia Rodrigo is going places with her music and success. Despite the rather topsy turvy year we've had, Rodrigo tops out as one of the most-streamed stars of 2021, but it seems her success was pre-destined early on.
Recently, "Good 4 u" singer shared a little snippet of a Christmas song titled "The Bels" on Instagram, back when she was all of five, along with an adorable picture.
Olivia Rodrigo's Very First Christmas Song
Olivia Rodrigo is all of 18 years old, but it seems songwriting had been in her blood ever since her birth. Or more practically, ever since she could talk, which is why she recently shared her first song, "The Bels", which she wrote when she was five.
Rodrigo shared an Instagram post, captioning it as, "In honor of Christmas Eve may I present to you my very first Christmas song 'the bels' written by 5-year-old me lol," before wishing everyone a "Happy holidays!!!!".
There was a picture of Rodrigo as a little girl, looking rather adorable holding a microphone, dressed in a red holiday outfit.
Olivia Rodrigo Looks Adorable As A Five-Year-Old
The post had one picture of Olivia and a snippet of the song, accompanied by another picture of hers. This time, she was dressed in a red tee and white pants, wearing a Santa cap and sitting at the foot of a Christmas tree, looking rather adorable. Little Olivia seems to have turned the picture into an album cover, sticking it on a green paper and painstakingly writing the name 'the bels' on top, which we assumed is a misspelling, with a green Christmas ribbon on the side.
She begins crooning, "Red and green is a Christmas queen" and fans were pretty impressed with her "harmonies at 5". And one fan was pretty honest when they said, "5-year-old liv is a better writer than 16-year-old me." Well, duh!
Swipe right to hear her sing about the bells on Santa's sleigh.

In Love With Songwriting
Songwriting has been a long love for Rodrigo and all the hard work has paid off for this 18-year-old as is quite clear. The whole of 2021 has been a success saga for her, with her debut album "Sour", and even the tickets to her Sour Tour sold out in a matter of minutes. The, she got 7 GRAMMY nominations
She was also named TIME's Entertainer of the Year. The singer, songwriter certainly seems destined for big things, and now she's also slated to appear in the third season of High School Musical. But Rodrigo does not take ot lightly as she said, "Songwriting is the thing I take most seriously in my life. It's the most personally gratifying too."
But she's also careful to take time out for herself, saying, "I love spending time by myself. That's the best thing ever. But I really love hanging out with my friends. I feel like that's really rejuvenating for me. And I love talking about stuff that is not music or industry-related."
This is her, on the cover of TIME magazine, which is described as the most surreal thing yet.
