Fans of “Bridgerton” got a surprise Christmas present straight from Lady Whistledown!

In a YouTube video posted by Netflix, Lady Whistledown wrote a letter to fans eagerly awaiting season 2 of the Netflix hit show.

“Happy anniversary to our buzzy ton,” the letter began. “It is customary for a first anniversary to gift paper, dear readers. I do hope you find this one informative. ‘Bridgerton’ returns March 25, 2022.”

The show is celebrating its one-year anniversary today, as the first season debuted on Christmas Day, 2020. The show was an instant hit with fans, who made it one of the most-watched Netflix series to date.

What Is Season 2 Of 'Bridgerton' About?

The “Bridgerton” series is an adaptation of the book series written by author Julia Quinn. The first book focused on the love life of Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor. The second book of the series – and now the second season of the Netflix show – is going to focus on the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey.

Anthony is searching for a suitable wife when he meets Kate, played by Simone Ashley, and her younger sister Edwina, played by CharithraChandran. Although Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate deems it an ill-fated match and tries to stop the union. However, as Anthony and Kate begin to butt heads, they also begin to fall for one another as well.

Many familiar faces from the first season will be making a reappearance, including Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Basset), Ruth Gemmel (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Claudia Jessie (Elouise Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte). Julie Andrews will continue to be the voice of Lady Whistledown.

The show will also see some new faces in Rupert Young (Jack), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe), and Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma).

Van Dusen is serving as the showrunner for the show's sophomore season. Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes have returned to executive produce the show as well.

Fans Can’t Contain Their Excitement For ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2!

“Omg I'm so excited Anthony and Kate are literally my most favorite couple out of the entire book series,” one fan wrote. “Can't wait to see some of my favorite book scenes adapted into the actual series.”
