There have been many fantastic Stephen King adaptations over the years, although there have been plenty that has been criticized as well. The reboot of "IT" and "The Stand" were met with acclaim, whereas the remake of "Pet Sematary" received a lukewarm reception from fans and critics alike.

"Christine" is a horror novel that tells the story of a car that is possessed by supernatural forces.

There was already a 1983 film adaption of the novel that was given a 69% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The story follows an unpopular nerd played Arnie Cunningham who buys a 1958 Plymouth Fury and names her Christine. His friend, popular jock Dennis Guilder, begins to worry about Arnie's unhealthy obsession with his car.

Many fans of the horror genre are already familiar with the work of Bryan Fuller. Fuller was the showrunner for the NBC drama series "Hannibal" that ran from 2013-2015 and starred Mads Mikkelsen as the titular cannibal.

Fuller announced that he was planning on remaking the classic Stephen King story, although there are not many details known about the project so far. He has, however, revealed how his reboot might compare to the John Carpenter film adaptation that was released in 1983 in a recent interview. John Carpenter, who is best known as the mastermind behind "The Thing" and the "Halloween" series, directed and created the music for the first film adaption.

According to Fuller, his version of Christine is going to be "horny as h---."

"This is much more beholden to the concept of 'The Overlook on wheels,' or the vampiric relationship between the car and Arnie," Fuller explained. The Overlook hotel is the name of the hotel that starred in "The Shining" and its sequel, "Doctor Sleep."

Although Fuller admitted to being a fan of the Carpenter classic, he admitted that Carpenter left out quite a bit of material from the book, which Fuller plans to include in his reboot. Fuller also plans to include Christine's first owner, Roland LeBay, who was absent from Carpenter's film.

Much of the reboot is going to focus on love triangles. Although there's a clear love triangle between Dennis, Arnie, and his car, things become even further complicated when Leigh, Arnie's girlfriend, begins to develop feelings for Dennis as well.

Fuller revealed that he will expand on Leigh's character more than what is revealed in the book, although he plans to keep the setting of the book the same and maintain the time period from late 1978 to early 1979.

In addition to Fuller, the "Christine" reboot will also be produced by Vincenzo Natali in a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Blumhouse. No release date has yet been announced for the project.
