Coldplay Will Stop Releasing Albums In 2025, Fans Have Mixed Reactions

Following his shocking revelation, Chris Martin has caused a storm of mixed reactions on various social media platforms!

The musician is best known as the frontman of  Coldplay, a famous British rock band, and he recently revealed the new details about the group's future in an interview with BBC Radio 2.

While discussing music with Jo Whiley, the show's host, the 44-year-old confessed that the band planned to stop making new music by 2025.

It has been 21 years since the musically gifted band dropped their first album, "Parachutes," in 2000, now the group has announced their intentions to stop recording by 2025.

While this bombshell must have blown the minds of most Coldplay fans, the band's frontman assured listeners that the group had more in store for them. Martin said:

"Well I know I can tell you, our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that, I think we will only tour. Maybe we'll do some collaborative things, but the Coldplay catalog, as it were, finishes then."

The next couple of years may be the end of new chart-topping songs, but the rock band would still bless fans with sensational stage performances during their tour season.

As shared by PEOPLE, Martin and his group members have amassed a total of 30 Grammy nominations, seven statuettes, and several platinum-selling albums during their career.

The "Yellow" singers' ninth studio album, "Music of the Spheres," was released in October, and it featured phenomenal collaborations with A-list entertainers.

This star-studded list included the South Korean idols BTS, Selena Gomez, Jacob Collier, and We Are King. Last month, "My Universe," the band's collaboration with BTS, was performed at the American Music Awards.

As aforementioned, the news of the "Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams" stars' plans to stop making music by 2025 received varied responses on social media.

Some fans were taken back by the news but still happy for the band's upcoming music. Alas, a few people couldn't stop themselves from being haters on Twitter. 

One fan wrote, "Well that's an early and unexpected Christmas present," while another individual pointed out that it was a "shame" the news didn't come in 2005.

If these comments weren't heartbreaking enough, a Twitter user stated that Martin's words implied that the band had previously made music.

The trolls didn't hold back their distasteful comments, but not even their negative words could hold a light to Coldplay's true fans.

One of the band's lovers stated that he/she was glad to have some good news finally. At the same time, another person confessed that Coldplay's music was the best cure for a bad day.

The sweetest comment came from a fan, who reminded the world that Coldplay didn't only make great music, but they were also the "only famous musicians" to take a stand on climate issues.

Giving back to their beloved community is something natural for the "Paradise" singers, as The Blast previously reported that the band donated a one-off signed vinyl to Tiny Changes Charity.
