'Wheel Of Fortune'is dealing with a bunch of disgruntled fans after stealing a huge prize from a contestant over a ridiculous technicality.
The legendary game show aired its yearly Christmas edition on Tuesday night, which featured a contestant named Charlene Rubush. In the episode, the woman made it all the way to the 'Bonus Round' where she played to win a brand new Audi Q3.
In the segment, Rubush was given the category clue of 'What Are You Doing?' with $16,500 in prize money. At the time, most of the letters were visible except for the last word, which featured four letters. As Pat Sajak looked on, the contestant correctly identified almost all of the phrase, saying, "Choosing the right..." But, she wrongly said "card" at the end of the sentence.
'Wheel Of Fortune' Sparks Controversy With Questionable Call On New Episode
BUT, before the buzzer went off, she correctly said "word" to end the sentence. So, in other words, she correctly stated "Choosing the right word."
Unfortunately, the time's up buzzer went off immediately following her getting out the final word -- making it appear as though she lost the prize. In an insane technicality, Rubush was not given credit for her correct answer, because she didn't repeat the WHOLE phrase while giving the last word correctly.
You gotta see this! It's nuts!

To make matters worse, Sajak attempts to explain the issue while telling the consistent she just lost out on a luxury vehicle. "You know, this one's tough because you said all the right words, including the word 'word' but, as you know, it's gotta be more or less continuous. We'll allow for a little pause but not four or five seconds. I'm sorry. You did a good job in getting it, but we can't give you the prize, and it was the Audi," he says.
As you can imagine, fans went crazy on Twitter, threatening to boycott the show if 'Wheel of Fortune' doesn't do the right thing and give her the Audi.
"You know what?! I’m gonna take a long pause from wheel of fortune," one person wrote. Another added, "Give her the car [Wheel of Fortune!!] This is ridiculous." A few got really upset, saying, "Well we had a good run. I won't watch the show anymore. That lady won the AUDI, she answered the phrase within the timeframe allowed. You have hidden rules, fake show. I'll never watch again (unless she gets the AUDI ANNND the rule changes."
Fans Threatening To Boycott 'Wheel Of Fortune'
The best part, fans on social media are even calling on Audi to give the woman her car, even if the show refuses to make it right.
This isn't the first time 'Wheel Of Fortune' has gotten heat over its seemingly hidden rules of the game. One example cited is that several contestants have been tripped up by using the word "and" on the crossword puzzle challenge that forces them to use the words and ONLY the words.
OK, Let's see that again...You Be The Judge!
