The Severity Of The Sexual Abuse

After the arrest earlier this year, the prosecution and defense team were doing their best to get a favorable verdict from the judge. The defense team tried to stop the prosecution team from raising Josh's sexual abuse issues.

Jim and Bobye Holt revealed that the sexual abuse in the Duggar family home was far more severe than what the public knew. This was contrary to what Bob and Michelle claimed in an interview with Megyn Kelly in 2015. The Holts also added that when the case went viral, Josh had touched his siblings in a very inappropriate manner countless times. Bob and Michelle also claimed that Josh's victims were oblivious of what happened to them.

Jim and Bobye also disproved the statements, stating that one of Josh's victims reported one of the past incidents. Judging from the Holts' testimony, Bob and Michelle painted a different scenario to the public.

The Duggar Family Denied Any Federal Raid On Their Property

Two years ago, there were reports that certain federal agents raided a property owned by the Duggar family. The rumors went on for a short while without the intervention of the concerned family. Later on, they issued a statement.

In the report released by the Duggars, Bob and Michelle claimed that nothing related to a raid was carried out on any of the Duggar family's property. They also claimed that no family member was a subject of investigation at the time.

They went further to outrightly tag the report as "fake news." However, a raid took place, which caused Josh's arrest and subsequent conviction. Not only that, the couple was aware of the raid in 2019.

They knew the agents visited a car lot owned by Josh because at that time, Josh and his family, was living on one of Bob and Michelle's properties. This was hidden until the prosecution team did some digging before the trial.

Bobye Holt Revealed A Past Failed Courtship

One of the witnesses for the prosecution team was Bobye Holt, a long-time family friend of the Duggars. Apart from revealing some hidden truths about Josh's child molestation, she also exposed a lie about a failed courtship.

Something peculiar about the Duggar family's courtship made it easy for the followers to believe Bobye's report. Fans were made to understand that the Duggar family didn't believe in dating. The family believed in direct courtships for the sake of purity. In essence, any family relationship was always a step to marriage, not for immoral purposes.

In 2008, Josh met Anna, his wife, and the family pretended that she was his first love. However, Bobye revealed that Josh had a serious relationship with a lady before he courted Anna, which was against their acclaimed court-ships principle. Bobye also claimed that Josh courted her first daughter when they were teenagers.

The relationship was intended for marriage until Josh confessed he was guilty of molesting his siblings on several occasions. The confession ended the relationship between their daughter and Josh.
