Leonardo DiCaprio Saves Lives Of Two Dogs, Jumping Into A Frozen Lake

If you didn't already love Leonardo DiCaprio, you will now, after the legendary actor jumped into a frozen lake to save the lives of his two dogs.

The scary incident took place while the 'Titanic' star was filming 'Don't Look Up,' with co-star Jennifer Lawrence. The actor revealed the emergency situation during an interview with Entertainment Weekly's 'Around The Table' where he described having to jump into frigid waters to save his two rescue Huskies.

"Basically, they both fell into a frozen lake," DiCaprio said. The two Huskies -- Jack and Jill -- live with the famous actor at his Los Angeles home and have never been in freezing cold conditions. "I didn't understand what you do in a frozen lake," Leo admitted while telling the story. The best part, Lawrence interrupted the actor while he was telling the story to add a little more drama to the incident.

"One of the dogs fell in, and he jumped into the frozen lake to save the dog," she said. Adding, "As soon as he pushed the one dog out of the pond, the other one jumped in."

As for how this would ever happen...Leo blamed it on the dog's never living in such an environment and not knowing the dangers of a freezing lake. "Well, the other one started licking the one that was drowning, and then we all were in the frozen lake together."

He continued, the dogs had no idea what was happening due to them being unfamiliar with the "concept of a frozen lake." At this point, Jennifer Lawrence continued clowning on DiCaprio and describe the events that unfolded next -- saying,  "I’m sure you guys are all wondering, I was too, he immediately got naked in the car." Of course, this would draw fewer questions from the crowd -- while everyone imagines that scene!

The movie's director, Adam McKay, who was also answering questions in the panel discussion described the Huskies as "absolute tornadoes" and Jennifer agreed that they are a bit "psychotic."

As for the doggies, Leo and his girlfriend -- Camila Morrone -- rescued the Huskies together back in 2020. They share a third dog named Sally.

'Don't Look Up,' is a star-studded end-of-the-world satire film that will be released by Netflix on Christmas Eve. DiCaprio and Lawrence play scientists who discover an extinction-level comet and....of course, no one cares.

DiCaprio signed onto the film after being an advocate for focusing on climate change issues in he felt like this was a good way to describe the craziness of not paying attention to our current state of affairs in the world today. "The brilliance of this screenplay is the analogy of making it a comet that is going to wipe out mankind within a six-month timeframe created this massive sense of urgency, rather than some slow-moving climate behemoth narrative. It really came at this specific moment in time, like films like “Network” or “Dr. Strangelove,” that really encapsulates what we’re going through as a culture. It perfectly held a mirror to our society and how we deal with the climate crisis, that we just let it continue and don’t take the actions that we need to take in order to survive on this planet," he told ABC News.
