Selena Gomez Marks New Era With 'Dark' Back Tattoo And Fans Can't Keep Calm

Selena Gomez has debuted a new mysterious tattoo that many believe is the start of a new era. A photo of the unique inking was shared by Bang Bang Tattoos on Instagram.

The singer was seen dressed in baggy black apparel. She stood far off in a corner donning black pants with a jacket that was worn backward. Her hair was worn in a sleek back updo and parted to reveal a new inking.

The mysterious tattoo featured a circular shape and extensions, but its actual design wasn't clear as the photo was taken from quite a distance. Selena hasn't posted the image on her page or publicly addressed it, but fans are going berzerk over the new inking.

It didn't take time for fans to go crazy over the new inking, with many urging the "Lose You To Love Me" singer to give them a closer look at the recent work of art. One fan gushed, "darklena is coming, "while another suggested, "looks like a dream catcher?"

Some other fans believe the new tattoo indicates a new music project for the former Disney fan. One user wondered, "is this for her upcoming project or Album? Is this permanent?"

No one can particularly say what the tattoo means or what it looks like, so we can only wait to see what Selena tells us. The new tattoo will join her legion of inkings on her body which amounts to between 8 and 10.

The "Only Murders In The Building" actress has a pair of praying hands with a rosary on her thighs, a writing of the word "Rare" beneath her ear in reference to her 2020 album of the same name.

On her wrist, there is a simple music note that represents the core of her being. Once speaking about the inking, Selena said, "everybody thought that it was a heart for some reason, but music is a big influence in my life. I was named after a singer, I'm a singer and a lot of other personal reasons. So, that'swhat I got."

Selena got a roman numeral writing for the number 76 as a tribute to a beloved family member for her first neck tattoo. The second is an inking of the letter "G," representing her sister, Gracie.

There's a writing of "Sunshine" on her feet, a simple semicolon on her hand, an Arabic translation of the phrase "Love Yourself First, an om symbol amongst many other hidden tattoos.

Selena received a worthy recognition earlier this month when she was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album category for the Latin Grammys.

The 29-year-old spoke about the surprise nomination in an interview, saying, "cried like a little baby. I was very excited, I worked really hard on that project, so it was a lovely surprise. I'm very excited."

Selena'sSpanish album Revelación got the big nod, and it was a special project to Selena as it was a way for her to connect to her roots.
