Free Tickets For Young Dolph's Public Memorial Quickly Sell Out

It's been almost a month now, since Memphis rapper Young Dolph was gunned down in his hometown. This incident occurred at Makeda's Cookies, a popular South Memphis business that Dolph frequently visited.

It was also recently revealed that a public memorial would he held for fans, on December 16. Tickets went on to be available on Ticketmaster, for free.

With the tickets to Dolph's memorial being free of charge, demand skyrocketed. These were said to have sold out in 90 minutes, as the memorial is less than 24 hours away.

The memorial will be held at FedExForum, home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. This venue can hold over 18,100 people.

A private ceremony was originally held over a week ago, but fans wanted to pay their respects as well. Dolph was one of the biggest artists to ever come out of Memphis, so having this public memorial at a large arena such as FedExForum is fitting.

At the time of the Makeda's Cookies shooting, two men pulled up to the establishment and quickly fired shots at Dolph. Dolph was already inside of the business and purchasing cookies. It was said that he wanted to get these cookies for her mother.

These two men's vehicle was a white Mercedes-Benz, as they also wore navy and black hoodies. Grey sweatpants were worn, along with COVID-19 style masks. One man also had on a Bass Pro Shops hat on.

Almost a month later, the shooters in this case have still yet to be apprehended by police. In the weekend following the shooting though, the alleged Mercedes-Benz getaway car was found.

The car was located about three miles from Makeda's in a residential neighborhood. It went on to be towed as it was located right next to a home. It's still unclear if the owners of the property were brought in for questioning.

Makeda's Cookies has since remained closed, and has been serving as a Dolph memorial site. A shooting ended up occurring there though, one day after Dolph was killed.

Three men ended up being arrested for this shooting. The suspects have since been identified as 23-year-old Terrance Jones, 19-year-old Jailon Nelvis, and 22-year-old Tavis McQueen. Police have since claimed that that incident isn't relating to the November 17 murder of Dolph.

The music industry was shocked to learn about the murder of Dolph, as many knew him as one of the kindest people out. Dolph also frequently gave back to communities in Memphis. On the day of his murder, he was scheduled to host a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, with members of his Paper Route Empire record label. That went on to go as planned, later that week.

One rapper who is still mourning heavily, is Key Glock. Glock is signed to Dolph's PRE label, and has worked with Dolph for almost a decade. He ended up taking to Instagram days after the incident, to vent about the emotional pain he's been experiencing.
