Talk about an expensive catering business. If you thought the delivery rates that you were getting charged from Grubhub, Uber Eats or who ever your favorite delivery service is you might not have much to complain about when you see Tom Cruise's food bill.

Of course, when you star in movies like Top Gun, Jerry Maguire, and all of those Mission Impossibles you end up building a net worth large enough to handle the rate for a transatlantic catering service. Tom Cruise has been spending a considerable amount of time in London filming the latest installment in the Mission Impossible franchise. The film was actually delayed through the pandemic and that caused Cruise a ton of commute issues. Lucky for him, he happens to have a convenient way to transport himself and food across the ocean.

Tom Cruise Uses Jet To Delivers Cakes

Tom Cruise was potentially wrapping up filming on Mission Impossible right before the holidays. As we mentioned filming has gone on virtually the whole year. The process even included a very famous audio clip of Cruise ripping members of the crew who had refused to follow COVID protocols. He's trying to make up for that by having over 300 cakes delivered from his favorite bakery in L.A. all the way to the set of the movie in London.

Of course that kind of trip is going to be out of range for any food delivery app. Therefore, Cruise came up with a very clever way to get the cakes to the crew. He actually had his private jet fly across the ocean with the baked goods. Sources tell the British paper The Sun,

“Tom wanted to give the team on Mission: Impossible a treat for Christmas and decided that only cakes from his favorite bakery in LA would do,”

Was This A Little Too Much?

Certainly the gesture seems rather grand. Tom Cruise isn't necessarily known to be a massive spender. Although he does like to fly around in helicopters and be seen at the most popular events. At least that's what he's done recently. The same source that talked to the Sun didn't specify whether Cruise was trying to overcompensate. For the time that he lashed out at the crew and got everything recorded on tape. They just mentioned that Tom Cruise is a very generous person. The source claims,

“Tom is an incredibly generous person and he wanted to do something special for everyone who has worked on the movie with him.”

Why Has This Mission Impossible Movie Taken So Long To Make?

It seems that we've been having Tom Cruise sightings in London, and reports from things happening on the set of the movie for a long time. Why is this Mission Impossible film taking so long to make? The thing is, they are actually making two of them! Mission Impossible 7 has a release date for September 2022. While Mission Impossible 8 has been confirmed and is potentially set to release in the summer of 2023. Tom Cruise is trying to see if he can match the Fast & Furious franchise at least in number of movies!
