Tiger Woods Is Closing Out 'Challenging Year' By Competing With Son In Golf Tournament!

Tiger Woods is making his triumphant return to the golf course!

After a “long and challenging year,” the golf star is getting back in the game and closing out the year doing what he loves alongside someone he loves.

Woods announced he’d be returning to golf on Wednesday, December 8, on Twitter.

He wrote, “Although it’s been a long and challenging year, I am very excited to close it out by competing in the PNC Championship with my son Charlie. I’m playing as a Dad and couldn’t be more excited or proud.”

Woods shares Charlie (14) with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren.

The PNC Championship features teams of golf champions and their family members. The first round of the tournament begins on Saturday December 18.

Woods’ exciting announcement comes 10 months after his terrifying and life-altering car crash.

In November, Woods spoke up about his future as a renowned professional golf player following his terrifying car accident.

Woods gave an insight into the ghastly injuries he encountered from the crash and how his recovery process has been so far.

In an interview with Golf Digest, Woods said he finds it realistic to play the tour one day, although “never full time, ever again—but pick and choose” just like Ben Hogan did.

The golfer noted he would instead choose a few events yearly and play around them. He finds the situation an unfortunate reality but one he accepts.

The father-of-two admitted to lowering his expectations as he no longer needs to compete with the best golf players in the world to have a great life.

After a car accident on February 23, Woods suffered comminuted open fractures to his right leg’s fibula and tibia. He began rehabilitating on bed rest, followed by a wheelchair and crutches.

Woods credited his 12-year-old son Charlie for motivating him through the process, adding that he would watch him play at tournaments and be impressed.

The 45-year-old said his son is doing great in the golf world but has a temper problem. He advised his son to remain 100% committed to the next shot he takes.

Woods expressed his gratitude for the influx of love and support, even from the White House, and said that the cost of doing business for sportsmen and sportswomen are injuries.

The Blast reported in August that the World Golf Hall of Famer had extreme damage to his right leg as the fibula and tibia shattered and ripped through his skin.
