Britney Spears' 13-year long conservatorship case consists of almost half a million pages of legal documents, sitting inside 58 boxes, according to Jamie Spears.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Britney's father made the stunning revelation while arguing the pop star's conservatorship should be terminated without any more argument. As you know, Spears and her legal team are blasting Jamie for the way he handled the conservatorship, including record keeping, and refusing to turn over legal documents and communications associated with the case.
In a new filing, Jamie Spears defends himself by saying, the "Temporary Conservators and Britney cannot “rewrite history” and charge Jamie with wrongdoing." Adding, "Temporary Conservators and Britney attempt to write an alternative narrative based solely on conjecture, and speculation."
Britney Spears' Conservatorship Aftermath Comes With A HUGE Paper Trail
Britney's father continued defending himself by pointing out that he has already turned over a HUGE amount of legal documents and items connected to his time as conservator.
"Jamie continues to produce all thirteen years of documents and communications (and has already produced over 115,900 documents, spanning 58 boxes of paper records and over 478,000 pages)," the filing states.
It continues, "Britney has not identified one problem with the production or one missing document from the production."
As we reported, Britney's team slammed Mr. Spears in a previous filing calling him a "disgraced" former conservator who continues to "improperly seek to bolster his reputation at his daughter’s expense." The lawyers claim his "toxic conservatorship" included "disorganized production of files (which fail to include his communications concerning the alleged (a) contemporaneous real-time eavesdropping on phones used by Ms. Spears via iCloud mirroring of those phones and (b) placing an illicit listening device in Ms. Spears’ bedroom to capture communications."
Jamie Spears Defends Himself -- There Is 'Zero Evidence' Of Wrongdoing
In the latest filing, Jamie claims there is "zero evidence" of these allegations and says the new lawyers are just perpetuating a "media circus."
"Britney’s objections represent unfounded, fruitless attempts to delay termination of the Conservatorship for the purpose of perpetuating the media circus surrounding these proceedings, securing their fifteen minutes of fame, and baselessly attacking Jamie and his reputation," it reads.
He continues, "Instead, they are looking for a seat on the bandwagon of trashing Jamie based on zero evidence and without even one word of support from the hearing transcript or the Court’s minute orders for their slanderous attack on Jamie."
Shockingly, he concluded, "Likewise, Temporary Conservators and Britney cannot “rewrite history” and charge Jamie with wrongdoing."
Britney Spears Preparing To Sue Her Father For Conservatorship?
At this point, it's unclear what Britney's team is going to do with the information, but they have threatened to sue Jaime Spears and others involved in the conservatorship for what they claim are "abuses" that went on over the years. Specifically, the pop star's finances are going to be put under a microscope, to determine if everything is above board.
As for Britney, she is enjoying the newfound freedom and has taken several vacations with her fiance, Sam Asghari. The pop princess has promised to reveal intimate details of the past 13-years, and possibly sit down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Stay Tuned.
