John Goodman just stunned fans after showing off a massive 200-pound weight loss, while walking the red carpet for his new movie.
‘The Conners’ star showed off his slim physique while strolling the red carpet for the premiere of his new animated show, ‘The Freak Brothers’ — and he looks amazing! The actor arrived at Fred Segal on Monday, sporting a V-neck orange sweater, jeans, and a sport coat. But, the outfit was tight enough to show the awesome work the legendary comedian has done on his fitness.
As we reported, the carpet was filled with stars including Pete Davidson — who decided to smoke a joint while he was walking into the theatre. Goodman happily posed with his co-stars, looking healthier than anyone!

So, the question clearly is…How did he do it?!
Well, Goodman reportedly started his massive transformation back in 2007, where he hit a staggering 400 pounds. “In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits,” he told ABC. Adding, “This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.” Also, the comedian gave up alcohol completely as part of his program.
‘Roseanne’ Star Shows Off 200-Pound Weight Loss!
It should be noted, Goodman had a little help on his way to the weight loss, after he hired a personal trainer named Mackie Shilstone to help with his lifestyle changes. One of the first things the trainer implemented in his life was breaking a sweat at least 6 days a week.
To start, the ‘Roseanne’ star started a Mediterranean-style diet — which consists of meals focusing on fish, olive oil, vegetables, nuts, and fruits. As for exercise, Goodman says he gets in 10,000 to 12,000 steps every single day. “This didn’t happen overnight — it’s been an ongoing process,” his trainer said of the progress. If you recall, John revealed a stunning weight loss at the 2015 premiere of ‘Trumbo’ — losing 100 pounds.

“I wanted to live life better,” Goodman said in 2010, adding, “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a– and figure out what you’re going to eat next.”
Over the years, the actor has admitted one of the issues in his life was portion control. It takes a long time to break the habit of eating way more calories than necessary for a single meal or day. “I was just shoving everything into my mouth,” he admitted. Adding, “It was basically just portion control and ‘I don’t need it.’
The comedian said it best while speaking to Howard Stern in 2016, “I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle and committed to this new way of living: ‘It’s an ongoing process for the rest of my life. You look in the mirror every day and go, “I gotta deal with this the rest of the day, I gotta deal with this schmuck?”‘
Bottom Line, He Looks GREAT!
