George Clooney stars in an ad for a bakery - but is snubbed in favour of a slice of toast. The Hollywood star, 60, is seen alongside bakery boss Jonathan Warburton in the minute-long advert / commercial. Mr Warburton can be seen preparing buttered toast to eat as his 3pm snack - only to be interrupted as a receptionist runs into the room declaring: "Mr Warburton, George Clooney is on the line!" Clooney's face can be seen on a laptop, where he's waiting to pitch an idea to Mr Warburton. But the Ocean's Eleven star is left dumbfounded when he's left hanging, as Mr Warburton declares: "He can wait." He closes the laptop as Clooney can be heard saying: "He hung up?" Clooney said of the ad: "It's not every day your call is turned down for a slice of toast, but needless to say I had a lot of fun filming this spot. "It was great working with the Warburtons team and I'm thankful for the support they are providing to the Clooney Foundation For Justice." Jonathan Warburton, Chairman of Warburtons, says, “We are thrilled to have George Clooney star in our latest campaign. Video calls have become part of normal life for so many of us during the last year, but George Clooney popping up on screen was quite a surprise." Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone have previously starred in ads for the UK based bakery. The fee paid to Clooney for his participation in the campaign was donated to the Clooney Foundation For Justice, which was founded by the actor and his wife, the international human rights lawyer, Amal, Warburtons said. The foundation campaigns against human rights abuses around the world. Credit - Courtesy of Warburtons / MEGA. 07 May 2021 Pictured: George Clooney appears on a laptop in the ad. At 60 George Clooney has amassed quite a respectable net worth. He’s had success in both television and film. The first of which he never has seemed too keen on returning to after his massive success on ER. Although Clooney is still very active at 60, in a recent sit down with The Guardian the Ocean’s 11 actor is giving out some clear clues that perhaps his career is coming to an end. He has enough money to be able to turn down massive offers for projects that he isn’t fully passionate about. It seems that his focus is way more on his family than his career. We can’t help but think that he’s earned the right to shift his focus.

Clooney Is Making Sure That He Doesn’t Book Himself Silly

Although Clooney didn’t necessarily mention that he was looking to ride off into the sunset he’s certainly at a point in his career where he’s looking to be more selective with the projects that he does take on. In saying this he also took quite a shot at the film industry in general. Saying that there weren’t too many interesting parts out there for him. That’s why he makes it a point to not cram his schedule these days. Clooney told The Guardian,

“In general, there just aren’t that many great parts – and, look, I don’t have to act. My wife and I had this conversation when I turned 60 this summer. I said: ‘I can still bounce around pretty good, and we both love what we do. But we gotta make sure we don’t book ourselves silly.’

In His Position He Was Able to Turn Down 35 Million Dollars For A Day’s Work

Reporter Hadley Freedman directly asked Clooney if he thought that he had enough money. Although Clooney’s answer wasn’t a direct yes, the story he told to answer the very direct question was in essence a yes. He said, that rather recently he was offered 35 million dollars to do an ad for an airline. That would essentially mean that he would be getting paid 35 million dollars for one day’s worth of work. That’s a killer hourly rate by virtually anyone’s standards. Clooney’s standards aren’t almost anyone’s though. He decided to turn down the offer arguing that he maybe didn’t see eye to eye with the company’s politics. Overall he had better things to do. Clooney mentioned,

“I was offered $35m for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal [Clooney, the human rights lawyer he married in 2014] about it and we decided it’s not worth it. It was [associated with] a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it.’

How Much Is George Clooney Worth?

If you can turn down 35 million dollars over loosing a minute of sleep, you’ve got to be worth a pretty penny. That’s exactly the case for George Clooney. According to multiple celeb networth sites his is valued at around 500 million dollars. These days he still makes cash from ER, but his biggest investments are in the real estate market. Interestingly enough the 35 million dollars would have been almost double what he earned for the entire Ocean’s 11 movie. Clooney’s investments though allow him to pick his spots with his acting career.
