At 60 George Clooney has amassed quite a respectable net worth. He's had success in both television and film. The first of which he never has seemed too keen on returning to after his massive success on ER. Although Clooney is still very active at 60, in a recent sit down with The Guardian the Ocean's 11 actor is giving out some clear clues that perhaps his career is coming to an end. He has enough money to be able to turn down massive offers for projects that he isn't fully passionate about. It seems that his focus is way more on his family than his career. We can't help but think that he's earned the right to shift his focus.

Clooney Is Making Sure That He Doesn't Book Himself Silly

Although Clooney didn't necessarily mention that he was looking to ride off into the sunset he's certainly at a point in his career where he's looking to be more selective with the projects that he does take on. In saying this he also took quite a shot at the film industry in general. Saying that there weren't too many interesting parts out there for him. That's why he makes it a point to not cram his schedule these days. Clooney told The Guardian,

“In general, there just aren’t that many great parts – and, look, I don’t have to act. My wife and I had this conversation when I turned 60 this summer. I said: ‘I can still bounce around pretty good, and we both love what we do. But we gotta make sure we don’t book ourselves silly.’

In His Position He Was Able to Turn Down 35 Million Dollars For A Day's Work

Reporter Hadley Freedman directly asked Clooney if he thought that he had enough money. Although Clooney's answer wasn't a direct yes, the story he told to answer the very direct question was in essence a yes. He said, that rather recently he was offered 35 million dollars to do an ad for an airline. That would essentially mean that he would be getting paid 35 million dollars for one day's worth of work. That's a killer hourly rate by virtually anyone's standards. Clooney's standards aren't almost anyone's though. He decided to turn down the offer arguing that he maybe didn't see eye to eye with the company's politics. Overall he had better things to do. Clooney mentioned,

"I was offered $35m for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal [Clooney, the human rights lawyer he married in 2014] about it and we decided it’s not worth it. It was [associated with] a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it.’

If you can turn down 35 million dollars over loosing a minute of sleep, you've got to be worth a pretty penny. That's exactly the case for George Clooney. According to multiple celeb networth sites his is valued at around 500 million dollars. These days he still makes cash from ER, but his biggest investments are in the real estate market. Interestingly enough the 35 million dollars would have been almost double what he earned for the entire Ocean's 11 movie. Clooney's investments though allow him to pick his spots with his acting career.
