It was confirmed by US Weekly earlier this week that Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor have officially broken up, again. The two have been on and off since first meeting seven years ago. A day after that news was published, Taylor posted a cryptic message on Instagram about being unable to change a person.

"You will never need to convince the right person to love you. No matter what, you cannot change them, make them do the work, or get them to commit to you if they’re not ready to show up," the quote read. "Change must be inspired from within, and actions are always louder than words."

The quote was re-shared by Taylor from a post by Rising Woman founder Sheleana Aiyana.

In the caption, Aiyana added, "I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but the truth is you can’t change people or force them to do the work. One of the worst things we do to ourselves is take rejection personally. People are who they are and it’s not up to you to try and change them."

A rep for the "American Idol" host said the two parted ways "amicably some time ago" but still "remain good friends."

The rep added that they are "each other's biggest supporters and will always cherish their time together as a couple."

This came in the wake of photos published by The Daily Mail which showed Seacrest on vacation in Mexico with a mystery woman. In the images, the couple is seen lounging by a pool, and in one of them the two are holding hands.

Seacrest and Taylor reportedly broke up in February 2019. At the time, Taylor posted on Instagram, "Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness."

But in March of this year, it seemed as if they may be back together after Seacrest posted a message for her. "Happy birthday to a chef, a legend, and an angel [Taylor]," Seacrest wrote at the time. "Here’s a throwback from before our new normal."

Seacrest's Mexico vacation seems to be much-needed for him. During the finale of "American Idol" in May, many fans were concerned he suffered a stroke live on air after he suddenly started slurring his words.

A rep for him said that he did not have any sort of medical issue, but was simply exhausted.
