Iggy Azalea was politely told to “get off our necks” as her Friday Instagram update delivered her first post-baby bikini photo. The 30-year-old rapper who revealed in early June that she’s given birth to a son now sees jaws dropping over her flawless bikini body – that doesn’t look like it was ever pregnant. Iggy shocked fans earlier this month by confirming that she and boyfriend Playboi Carter are parents to a son. The “Black Widow” rapper has not indicated when she gave birth, although fans had suspected a pregnancy.
Scroll for the photo clocking the Australian over 400,000 likes in under two hours. Joining a string of Fashion Nova photos seeing Iggy rock her ambassador status with the brand, the photo showed the star looking back at it – literally – as she flaunted her stunning body in a tight, long-sleeved, and colorful floral-print bikini. Iggy’s 13.4 million followers got a matching hair tie, a huge blonde pony, and Iggy looking back towards the camera as she posed on an outdoor deck.
Bikini, yes, but on her own terms. Iggy captioned her photo: “This that: I’m just gonna dip my legs in, I’m not about to get my hair wet type swimsuit @fashionnova ?.” Instagram? It’s officially shook. “Icon. period,” one fan wrote. “Omg??,” another said. As to anyone playing the ranking game, Iggy got the last laugh as she was called an “easy 10” by one fan. Iggy made her reveal via her stories. “I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world,” she wrote. The star added wanting to keep her son’s life “private” also confirming that “he is not a secret. I love him beyond words.” Iggy and rapper Playboi Carter have been an item since 2018, although it’s been on-off. Today may well have netted the “Fancy” rapper some cash, though.
Iggy’s post today blurred the lines between casual brand shout-out and solid influencer – the latter is, however, clear via the repeat mentions from Iggy as she name-drops the affordable clothing giant on her IG. Experts over at Vox have thrown out estimated figures for when pay is involved. “Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post!” Iggy’s secret to that bikini body may well be the workouts.
