‘Bachelorette’ Alum John Hersey Debunks Cheating Allegations With Katie Thurston

After several claims about John Hersey's affairs with Katie Thurston while still with her ex, Hersey finally revealed what really happened.

In a report by Page Six, both were always platonic friends from the beginning, even though it was due to pretty unexpected and unplanned events. 

Although their friendship blossomed over time, Hersey claimed that he never cheated with his now-girlfriend, Thurston, when engaged to her ex, Blake Moynes.

According to Hersey, before going steady with their relationship, they had a deep friendship connection that never bordered on anything romantic.

They never thought they would be anything more than friends, and Hersey always respected her relationship at the time. The 27-year-old wrote in a Reddit thread:

“The boundaries of our friendship with respect to her ongoing relationship never even required addressing, because it was never a thought in our minds that we would ever be anything more.” 

As was confirmed by the news outlet, he revealed that he was not the type to cheat or force cheating on someone. He believed that such was unacceptable and not in his nature.

In conclusion, Hersey bluntly revealed that he and Thurston never got involved romantically during her engagement with Moynes. 

Weeks ago, Thurston shared a sweet black and white Instagram picture of herself and Moynes. She used this to explain how the former couples had decided to call it quits and move on.

It was not such a shock when Hersey and Thurston went public with their relationship a few weeks after she broke up with her ex-fiancé considering their closeness.

Nevertheless, the revelation was suspicious that many fans and even Moynes had doubts about Hersey's relationship with his ex. 

The Blast recently shared that Moynes believed that emotional cheating was involved for the co-stars' relationship to switch up as it did.

The wildlife manager didn't take the breakup and the timing of the new relationship well. Hersey admitted the same about the timing but still claimed they were always friends before Thurston's split.

Hersey was evicted from "The Bachelorette" in the second week while Thurston and Moynes were engaged in August during the show's finale, but they broke up in October.

Despite the mutual ending of their romance, Moynes still believed that his ex may have had an affair during their relationship.

As aforementioned, the nature enthusiast assumed that Thurston cheated on him emotionally with Hersey because he did not expect the new relationship announcement two weeks later.

He claimed that although he was aware of his ex's tight-knit friendship with Hersey, he was self-assured about his trust in his ex.

Even with his assumption that the couple was not involved physically, he still believed they were having an emotional affair. With this, he blamed himself for being emotionally unavailable to Thurston.

After their tearful breakup and post-breakup drama, Moynes wanted no regrets in his life and went on to wish the new couple the best.
