“House of Gucci” is finally available in theaters and Adam Driver is ready for a rest!

The “Marriage Story” actor has been involved in three films over 2021: the musical “Annette,” the medieval “The Last Duel,” and the “House of Gucci” biopic in which he stars with Lady Gaga. Their chemistry has been praised by critics, who are also marveling at the transformation achieved by Jared Leto on screen.

Driver has collaborated with director Ridley Scott on his last two films. Although “The Last Duel” was a box office flop, Scott recently blamed “apathetic millennials” and “cellphones” for its lackluster reception.

However, it seems that fans are eager to head to theaters this Thanksgiving weekend, and combined with the added star-power of Al Pacino, Salma Hayek, and Jeremy Irons, it looks likely that “House of Gucci” will receive a warmer reception than Scott’s last film.

In an interview with The Irish Times, Driver admitted that, although he likes working, he is ready to take a break.

He revealed that he “worked a lot because Covid kind of packed up everything in the schedule. I’d already committed to things in advance. And you don’t want to back out of your word. Plus, the idea of working when a lot of people didn’t have that opportunity felt like a gift. Now I kind of want to take a break from it for the foreseeable future.”

What does he plan to do? “You know: to be at home. I try to be at home as much as I can even when I’m shooting. So more at home.”

He added that he tries to keep his professional and personal life very separate. Driver married fellow Julliard alum, Joanne Tucker, in 2013. The two have one son together that the couple managed to keep hidden from the press for two years!

“I’m careful of how I move around,” he admitted. “I need to protect people in my life who haven’t signed up to be an actor.”

He added that being a celebrity can be detrimental to his career as an actor.

“An actor is supposed to be anonymous,” he added. “But now more than ever, I feel that as an actor, your privacy is in jeopardy. Everybody is a potential paparazzi because they can just pull out their phone and take a picture. It makes it hard to move around the world and live.”

Although Driver is ready for a break, he already has several films in the works for 2022.

“White Noise,” based on the 1985 novel by Don DeLillo, marks his fifth collaboration with Noah Baumbach. The film is a satirical analysis of modern American consumerism through the eyes of Jack Gladney (Driver) and his fourth wife, Babette (Greta Gerwig). The film will premiere on Netflix in 2022.

Fans are also excited to see Driver star in the sci-fi thriller “65,” which marks the directorial debut of “A Quiet Place” writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Although the plot has yet to be revealed, the film has an anticipated release date of May 13, 2022.

Driver is also teaming up with Jeff Nichols in his new film “Yankee Comandante.” The biopic focuses on the life of William Alexander Morgan, a rebel American soldier from Ohio that helped Fidel Castro take down the former president Fulgencio Batista in the 1970s.

Although nothing is confirmed, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy hinted earlier today that the characters from the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy "will live on," which means that fans can't rule out Driver returning to a galaxy far, far away just yet...

...after a well-deserved break, of course!
