Season 1 of “Euphoria” instantly captured the attention of millions, and the show ended on one insane cliff hanger.
Is Rue dead or alive?
Zendaya is back as Rue!
Well, given that HBO just dropped the season 2 trailer and release date, I think we can confidently answer that question and the answer is ‘NO, she’s not dead.’
The new trailer opens up with Zendaya singing “Irresponsible” by Frank Sinatra and dancing with a pillow.
As the trailer goes on, new snippets from the season involving other characters begin to flash across the screen.
Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Barbie Ferreira and more reprise their roles as the teens of East Highland.
Trouble continues to arise in 'Euphoria' Season 2
The trailer sees Zendaya’s character get choked, running away from a cop car before getting caught like a deer in the headlights, and dancing while high.
This season is detailed as, ““Amidst the intertwining lives in the town of East Highland, 17 year old Rue (Zendaya) must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction.”
Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, January 9 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on HBO. This season will be comprised of eight episodes.
The season was set to come out in 2020, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, production was halted and pushed back.
The show’s creator, Sam Levinson, released two “bridge” episodes in December 2020 and another one in January.
The bridge episodes provided stripped-down character studies for the show’s protagonists and main couple: Rue Bennett (Zendaya) in “Trouble Don’t Always Last,” and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) in “F**k Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob.”
Another creation from Levinson just got the green light at HBO; however, this time he is credited as a co-creator alongside of The Weeknd.
“The Idol” is about a nightclub owner in Los Angeles who was a former cult leader. An up-and-coming pop star succumbs to the cult leader, and that is all we knew.
HBO has officially picked up the show and ordered six episodes, it will star The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
