In case you don’t know it already, Lady Gaga is the brains behind tonight’s ‘One World: Together At Home.’ The star-studded, Saturday night spectacular is several hours into its pre-broadcast livestream event – somehow, the ‘Stupid Love’ singer still made time to address the public ahead of its television broadcast.
“I know that ‘Together At Home’ is just starting now – the digital stream, the pre-show” she said via Instagram earlier on Saturday. “I love you all so much.”
The former wearer-of-the-meat-dress was in a totally different space today. Sans any makeup, the natural brunette relaxed on her bed with a messy ponytail.
“I love the world so much.” Gaga paused, wiping away tears. “What Global Citizen has done with all of us – with the World Health Organization – is so beautiful. I’m so grateful to all the healthcare workers and the medical workers and all the grocery store workers and delivery people and the postal workers [and] all the other non-profits that are working so hard.”
It was reported by the BBC that – as of April 7th – Gaga’s efforts with Global Citizen had already raised £28 million, or $35 million USD.
“Hi, France – people all over the world,” her message continued. “I can see you.”
“I just want you to know that this is really a true love letter to all of you all over the world – and I hope a reminder of the kindness that’s occurring right now. You’re all so special.”
“The world is a special place, and we’re all together at home, and we’re one world.” Gaga panned down to show the ‘One World’ logo on her t-shirt – the “peace” sign tattoo on her wrist appearing as well.
“I’ll be watching all day, and tonight I’m gonna watch the 5 PM livestream of the show live on my Instagram,” Gaga continued. “I’m gonna watch it at that time because my family’s in New York and I want to watch it with them.”
“I love you and I hope you feel a big hug from the whole world today – because, what’s really beautiful about this whole show is that you’re really hugging each other. And it’s something that everyone always really wanted it to be.” Gaga’s tears welled up again with before a touching final remark.
“Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to make people happy and I didn’t know why. But I think I know today.”
