The singer’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, won BIG in court on Friday November 12.
He was able to get Los Angeles County Judge, Brenda Penny, to agree to terminate the years-long conservatorship Britney deemed ‘abusive.’
In a press conference after the hearing, Rosengart said, “What’s next for Britney, and this is the first time this could be said for about a decade, is up to one person, Britney. I will say that Britney has been put into a position through our collaboration and the work of my law firm to succeed.”

He continued to say, “We have a safety net in place for Britney both on the personal side and on the financial side. But Britney, as of today, is a free woman and she’s an independent woman. And the rest with her support system will be up to Britney.”
The crowd could be heard cheering and hollering during Rosengart’s press conference.
Britney’s fiancé, Sam Asghari, commemorated the historical moment on Instagram.
He posted a bright pink square with “Freedom” written in bold white writing to his IG grid.
Sam captioned the pic, “History was made today. Britney is Free! ❤️.”

Britney also broke her silence with a video of fans celebrating outside of the LA County courthouse where the hearing was held.
She wrote, “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy 🥺❤️ !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen 🙏🏼☀️🙌🏼 ???? #FreedBritney.”
