Rapper Young Dolph’s wife is breaking her silence on the brutal murder of her husband, thanking fans for the prayers for her family.
The rapper’s spouse took to Instagram to address his tragic death and speak to fans and friends about the ongoing situation. “Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, love, support, calls, and messages,” it began.
She continued, “I may not see them all but when my eyes are not full of tears, I catch a few…Nonetheless, all the genuine positive vibes, energy, and prayers are welcome…because Lord knows I need them.”

As we reported, the Memphis rapper was gunned down in front of a cookie store in his home state of Tennesse. At this point, the murder is still under investigation, and police have released images of the shooters who shot at the rapper in broad daylight.
The Memphis Police Department says two gunmen approached Makeda’s Cookies just before 12:30 pm on Wednesday and opened fire on the rapper as he exited the establishment. Investigators shared pictures of the two shooters who were armed with assault rifles. The suspects took off in a white two-door Mercedes Benz, and are currently at large.
In a press release, cops say after arriving on the scene, they “located an unresponsive male victim lying on the floor of the business with multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim has been positively identified as Adolph Thornton Jr, 36. Mr. Thornton was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Surveillance Cameras Captures Shooters Opening Fire On The Rapper
They continued, “Investigators obtained video surveillance which shows two suspects exit a white two-door Mercedes Benz armed with guns. The suspects approached the victim while he was inside the business and shot the victim several times. The suspects then fled the scene.”
Shockingly, another person was shot in the exact same location — after the strip mall was turned into a memorial for the rapper. Again, a person brazenly opened fire in broad daylight as people paid their respect to the rapper.
The death has sent shockwaves throughout the Hip-Hop industry including an announcement by Soulja Boy that he will not be performing at the next three stops on his tour. The shows include stops in St. Louis, Missouri, and Memphis. “The safety and welfare of our patrons are the first and foremost priority,” a spokesperson for the tour said in a statement. Adding, “We pride ourselves on bringing high-quality concert experiences to our patrons. In times like this, we stop at nothing to ensure that everyone that participates in these experiences is healthy, safe, and quite frankly having a good time.”
Hip Hop Community Mourns The Death Of Young Dolph
Following the death, Young Dolph was mourned by the music industry including Drake, Offset, and Megan Thee Stallion. “Everybody that knows me knows I play this man’s music EVERY DAY ! He was so genuine so real so kind to me and Farris always !!! Rest in Peace to a real legend,” the ‘Wap’ rapper posted on social media.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
