Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's torrid romance started when they met on the set of 'The Rum Diary' in 2011. By 2015, their affair had made Depp go down on bended knee and they got hitched. The love did not last long because the marriage that happened in February 2015 was over by May 2016, and it was over amid allegations of abuse against Depp. This got Depp ostracised from the filming community and even Disney dropped him from the forthcoming Pirates movie.

Was Heard A Victim Of Abuse?

Even after the divorce was finalized with Heard receiving a hefty sum in millions from Depp as a settlement, she carried on portraying herself as a victim of abuse and penned down an op-ed piece for Washington Post where she spoke about how she came through her abuse and proved to be a survivor. Whilst she never named Depp in the article, the intentions were clear enough and a judge ruled that Depp had just cause of filing a suit against her.

Depp Has Filed For Defamation

Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit soon after, and details began to emerge that showed Heard in less than stellar light. Certain details are now cropping up that show that some of the pictures Heard furnished as proof of abuse may have been doctored to show her as a victim. Clearly, this was not a good marriage and we are sure that Depp erred aplenty. But painting him as the villain and her as the hapless victim may be a bit much.

Witnesses Are Refuting Heard's Statements

According to CBR, Heard had said that Depp had given her two black eyes. She said it was at the time she was to appear on 'The Late Late Show With James Corden' way back in 2015. Her claims are being refuted by her then-stylist, Samantha McMillen, who gave the statement, “Throughout the day of December 16, 2015, I could see clearly that Amber Heard did not have any visible marks, bruises, cuts, or injuries to her face or any other part of her body."

If Caught Lying, She Could Face Felony Charges

So was Amber Heard lying about it all and using makeup to cook up her pictures of abuse? Time will tell and so will the courts because the case is still being fought. James Franco is also one of the key witnesses for the same because he was spending time with Heard when she claimed the abuse happened. However, popular opinion seems to be moving in favor of Johnny Depp and if Heard is found to have fudged evidence, she may be facing misdemeanor and felony charges.
