Taylor Swift fans are reliving her infamous breakups all over again.
After Swift released "Red (Taylor's Version)" on Friday, November 12, Swifties went on a savage Twitter firestorm against her ex, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who Swift dated for three months before her 21st birthday.
Although their romance was short-lived, the break-up spawned an entire album dissecting every aspect of their relationship, including a mystery of what happened to Swift's scarf.
Although the fan rage against Gyllenhaal is dying down, fans have turned their sights on another ex: “Your Body Is A Wonderland” singer John Mayer.
Swift and Mayer dated from 2009 to 2010. He was 32 at the time, while Swift was only 19. The song "Dear John" is assumed to be about him, and includes scathing lyrics, such as “Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?” and “All the girls that you've run dry have tired, lifeless eyes cause you burned them out.”
Now fans have set their sights on John Mayer, and some of the comments aren't pretty.

Although some view tweets as just mindless shouts into the void, more likely than not, there are people on the other end receiving those tweets.
One Swift fan found this out the hard way when she send John Mayer a DM on Instagram.
“f--- yourself you ugly b---- i hope you choke on something <3,” a user named Alondra said. They followed it up with "answer me you b----."
Although she later said she didn't expect an answer, Mayer did respond. In a series of released screenshots, fans watched the conversation unfold.
“Hi Alondra, it’s John. I’ve been getting so many messages like these the past couple of days. I decided to choose your message at random to reply to. You can feel free to screen shot, share in any way you like if you want.”
He added, “I’m not upset, I just tend to have a curious mind and feel compelled to ask. Do you really hope that I die?”
“OMG WHAT i don’t want you to DIE” came the fast reply, along with a 30-second voice clip and an apology.
“It’s okay. I wanted to understand,” he replied. “So it’s a fun thing people are doing without taking into account that I might see it and be affected by it?”
Alondra replied by saying that she thought no one would see the messages "or answer since you are famous and don’t interact with random people. again, very sorry !!”
Mayer assured her that it was "100 percent okay" and wished her well.

Still, the fan couldn't help but warn him that "people are probably going to be 1000x meaner when speak now taylor’s version is released so take care of yourself."
Although fans are looking forward to "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," it seems Mayer is decidedly not looking forward to a new barrage of hate mail.
However, he might not have to face the fire and brimstone just yet. In the "All Too Well" short film, Swift featured a 1989 Mercedes Benz in the video, giving fans a hint that "1989 (Taylor's Version)" might just be her next re-recorded album.
